Hotel staff were fantastic, more than helpful in every way. Location is fantastic - main shopping area, city sight seeing bus stops directly across the road. Metro stop is also a 2 minute walk. Lots of bars around the area and eateries.

Room Tip: For people from the countryside its best not to have a room facing onto the main street. The window...

Stayed here for 4 nights over the weekend of the Monza GP. We were traveling up and down to the race track each day, so we were really only sleeping there - up early and in late.

The room was clean, tiled floors, shower en suite was clean, and room 107 had three single beds; I think they can increase this to four if req'd. Two small wardrobes and a desk - that was it. Beds were small but comfy, and most importantly for Milan in September, it had air conditioning. Room 107 was right beside the check-in desk, so at times you could hear a bit of noise from there, but it wasn't too bad.

The hotel is about equidistant from P. de Vanezia and Lima metro stations, and within walking distance to the main centre and the Duomo. Lots of shops around on Corso Buenos Aires, and a few places to eat too.

If you're looking for comfort or a romantic hotel, this isn't the place for you. If you're just looking for a place to rest your head whilst you're out exploring the city, then it'll serve you well. Friendly staff too.

The Hotel Aurora is runned by a lovelly couple and they were always ready to help us whenever we needed them.
Location: only 1 minute walking to Porta Venezia, which will take you to the most visited place in Milan: The Duomo (only 2 stops from Porta Venezia station)
Rooms: We´ve got 3 rooms. All clean, no problems.
Staff: Great! Even the night security is a great guy!
Breakfast: They don´t have the facilities for that, but you can get a voucher from reception (E$5.00) and have it just outside the building.
It is a simple hotel but great value for money!
Hope you enjoy your stay as I did!

When we travel, we generally expect to get what we pay for. For us, we just needed a place to stay in Milan for one quick night, near the train station, that was clean and cheap. As it turns out, we would have probably used the Hotel Aurora as a base if we were staying in Milan longer. The room was actually one of the largest on the trip, and getting free Wifi is pretty great. It was a 15 minute walk to/from the train station and a 2 minute walk from the Metro, making it a very convenient location. The room was spotless, and airconditioned. An excellent place to stay in Milan for cheap.

I honestly have no idea how it's a one-star hotel. What are the guidelines? Ignore that, it's a great, basic room with free internet and a private bathroom.

Cheap and no-frill hotel in a very good location. only 10 mins stroll to shopping district of Milan plus another 10mins to Duomo.

The receptionist is friendly and welcoming. He even gave us extra access card for the Wi-fi when he found out we needed more.

Milan is an expensive place, so this little gem is truely a good place to stay!

Picking an inexpensive but decent hotel in Italy can be tough let alone one in Milan. This little gem turned out to be the most spacious room we stayed in of the 3 hotels we stayed in.

The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the Central train station. It is also very close to several metro stations as such conveniently located. It's only 3 stops to get to the Duomo.

The hotel isn't much to look at from the front but hotel itself is nicely appointed. We stayed in a double room with a private bathroom. The bathroom is typically small with a micro shower. The room was very clean and had lots of storage space. The only downside is that it's located to a church with a bell tower. The sound proofed windows helped but they don't block it out entirely when your window looks right on it. Luckily the bells don't ring at night.

The staff were extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and figuring out how to get to the Malpensa airport for our flight out.

The hotel is located a few doors down from a great bar that is good for a quick breakfast, or go around the corner to the excellent pasticceria for breakfast , lunch or a snack. There's an extremely popular gelateria across the street.

It's a great base of operations for a Milan visit.

We owned triple room for one nigth at 70 euros at aurora hotel from venere.com web site. We went to the hotel from Central rail station (centrale F.S.), it was just about 10 minutes walk. If you look at maps.google.com you can go all the way by using street view just as you would walking real in the street and write the route for you as we did. The staff was friendly, the room was cleaned about an hour later when we arrived, so we left the baggage and went to explore the city. After an hour the room was cleaned.
The room quality was affordable (small, but clean, not noisy and just what you need to stay for one night) with TV (we watched football championship semifinal), beds there clean, also there were mirrors, shower with toilet and air conditioning which worked well and the view to the Carlo Buenos Aires street. Also, the free wireless connection was available. So I am writing this reviews just from hotel using their wireless internet :)

All in all, we were suprised, that one star hotel can offer such a good deal for stay.
