“Paola makes Home BB something quite exceptional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

The bed and breakfast itself is nice, very much like having your own condo in Milan (which sounds very chic when I think of it). But what really makes this experience something very much out of the ordinary is Paola.
From the minute we arrived she was the most charming hostess we've ever had in all our years of travel. She got out a map and told us exactly where to go and exactly how to get there. That last part is important, because Home BB is not in the thick of Milano tourism, for better or worse. The bus comes very frequently and it is easy to get the hang of, and quickly.

The breakfasts were really good, and more than that, they were a really fun experience. There was another couple there who were got to have a great, long chat with, along with Paola. It was that sort of thing there. It was extremely convivial and relaxed.
Loved it.

We were staying in Milan for an evening before flying back to the states, and found availability with Paola.

The B&B is a converted condo, two rooms, very modern and clean. It's clear from the moment you arrive that Paola has thought about every aspect of her business. The room has amazing automated window covers that allow you to completely block out morning sunlight (which we took advantage of---best night of sleep on our entire trip!), and her breakfast spread of juice and home-made pastries is really impressive, and tasty. (Tip: if you stay here, definitely pay for the breakfast...it's worth it!) Paola was very helpful with information about navigating to the various places we wanted to go in our short time there.

I will definitely be visiting Italy again, and hope to spend more time in Milan next time. And I'll be booking with Paola when I do!

As a general rule most fashionable cities, by their very nature, are 'top dollar poor value' when it comes to sleeping & eating. Having planned our roadtrip through Europe in some detail we therefore settled on Home BB as being 'probably OK' for a one-nighter........a serious underestimation of what this simple, yet beautiful little place has to offer. Indistinguishable from the shops & adjacent flats in this bustling Milanese suburb one could easily be forgiven for erring towards a more 'mainstream' hotel, which would be a BIG mistake as first impressions can indeed be deceptive. Paola literally met us at the door (more luck than good management on our part as we hadn't read her text/e-mail asking us to estimate our arrival time) - she 'recognized' our car as we pulled up outside!! Car quickly parked in the secure underground (contracted) car park we were soon upstairs in a beautiful, albeit compact Duplex style apartment (bedroom/bathroom/kitchenette) complete with very tasteful graffiti chalk & blackboard above the bed!! Paola took some real time out to settle us in & show us where we were relative to tram/bus/metro stops, explaining routes/numbers/where to go for the best food/where to avoid etc.....in a genuinely passionate & interested way (i.e. a million miles from the all-too familiar 'it-says-here' tourist approach). High-tech shuttered windows, high floor well above the traffic & super-comfy bed & pillows in spotless, well equipped surroundings ensured one of the best nights sleep we'd had in 2 weeks - nice breakfast, more friendly conversation with mine host & off we went....simple, friendly, value-for-money one-nighter - our only regret was that we weren't able to stay longer!! Thanks Paola - a true hidden gem & personal service at its very best.

We stayed here for a long weekend a couple of weeks ago. Paola was a fantastic host and, whilst Home BB, is quite a long way from the centre of town, Paola sat us down with the map and showed us the best way to get in and out of town - we pretty soon had two bus routes, a tram route and the Metro sorted. She was great at recommending places to go , restaurants etc
Room (we stayed in London) was modern, spacious and comfortable and Paola put on a fabulous breakfast!
Whilst location is not right in the centre of town, its really accessible for the Wagner area of teh city which has some lovely restaurants and gelateria which was one of our favourite bits of town. Bus took about 15 mins into centre of town and they were always regular.
Would highly recommend Home and Paola as an excellent hostess!

Room Tip: we stayed in London which was excellent

Absolutely loved this B&B. Modern and spotlessly clean - the rooms have everything you could want and the bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in. However, what really sets it apart is the fabulous Paola who is so helpful, friendly and a mine of information (foodies will be in heaven with her tips). Our flight was 3 hours late meaning we arrived past midnight but we still received a warm welcome (sorry to Paola's boyfriend). We only stayed for 2 nights but would have loved to stay longer.

As I already expected due to the great evaluations here, the hotel is very cozy, new, modern and clean.
Although the location is not central, there's bus lines to center and subway close. (Be careful, taxi's fare was really expensive - 15 to 20 euros to center)
Paola, the owner is extremely gentle.

I had been travelling all day from a skiing village in the Dolomites when just before 6pm I tentatively crossed the busy road in the dark and located number 141 Lorenteggio. Here it was: Home BB Milano. I pressed the buzzer, was greeted with an enthusiastic welcome and invited to come up to the sixth floor. Thus started a four night stay which was just the best - superb.

Minimalist lines, monochromatic tones with stylish accents, uber contemporary fit-out, pillow selection, beautiful linens, choice of bathroom products, mini-bar and coffee machine in room, decent coat hangers, light dimmers, electric external and internal blinds, pansies and herbs growing in the vertical container on the balcony, wonderful shower, great bathroom lighting - and then, fresh fruit and chocolates. This was some room!

Breakfast was a sight it behold. Paola is a foodie: home made bread with her own jams (the orange marmalade - ooh!), her own honied granola which was scrumptious with the natural yoghurt, her own tart, muffins and biscuits (stylish biscuits!), choice of juices, fresh fruit, freshly sliced ham, speck, salami, cheeses, her own dried cherry tomatoes and mushrooms in oil. This was all presented as if for a gourmet photo-shoot. Just beautiful! And then coffee to order!

So a great room, great breakfast but the best is yet to come.....Paola is a great host - smart, savvy, passionate, engaging, informative, helpful, flexible. How else would I have come to taste the best canolo in Milan, hidden away in the Pasticceria Siciliana? A crisp outer shell encasing the finest sweet ricotta with small chocolate chips at each end - belissimo! Then there was the best chocolate shop in Milan; the suggestion to go to Casa Lucia for dinner (off the tourist track); the provision of the local transport day-pass; and on it went - a fountain of information and tips that only a knowledgable local can provide. But Paola is more than just a knowledgable local - she is also in to food and wine (and chocolate)!

This is a terrific B&B and contributed significantly to my pleasure in spending four nights in Milano. Paola is a gem!
