We took a two day escape with my wife to Milan. We found the warmth of a home in RossoSegnale. The kindness and sincere hospitality of the hosts make you feel like a guest rather than a client. Artistic beauty of the place, attention to detail, silence, peace, comfort... and you are very close to the city centre. If you don't like mass accommodation hotels and looking for something unforgettable, RossoSegnale can be your home in Milan...

what a pleasure for all the senses... every angle of this beautiful B&B was cured in detail. As a hard to please traveler, i absolutely loved it. the furniture, the incredible fabrics and colors, the art, (we stayed in the room '900) the silence, the calm and peaceful demeaner of its owners who really make you feel at home while at the same time being very discreet. the breakfast in its wonderful little room was fantastic. you cant stop yourself from marveling at every little piece of decor, knowing it had a story behind it. thanks to a friend, we were very lucky to spend (unfortunately only) 24 hours of bliss and relaxation in this gem of a place. we will definitely recommend it to others and hopefully will return to relax in the garden in spring or summer. thanks again to Alberto and Raoul.

A wonderful B&B run by wonderful people. Alberto and Raoul could not be more hospitable. Their B&B is beautifully decorated and comfortable (with a LARGE shower by Italian standards) and its location is terrific, with easy access to the metro and the main shopping street in Milan. They offered us snacks and gave us a parting gift, plus they graciously answered many emails from me (in my fledgling Italian) before we even got there. Absolutely no complaints, would definitely go back there if we return to Milan. Thank you, Alberto and Raoul!

I stayed 2 nights at RossoSegnale in last December. I choose the room called BIANCONEVE which is so special and beautiful. The hosts decorated this room with the exhibits as those in the gallery. The hosts, Raoul and Alberto, are so kind that they advanced the breakfast time to 7 due to my early flight. And before I leave, they gave me 2 traditional Italian cakes which were delicious. The location of this B&B is also very good. I only took about 5 minutes to get the nearest metro. I will also consider RossoSegnale to be my next stay in Milan.

We stayed there post-Xmas last year (2013) and whilst it is nestled slightly off the city centre and main attractions, it was never too far away from everything given the nearby Metro. The B&B place was a delight to stay especially with the curated art pieces that were everywhere in the house. We had booked all three rooms and thus practically had the entire B&B to our family, we really enjoyed staying there as it felt like a home away from home. We had the run of the place including the garden area and roof top terrace. Breakfast each day was such a treat and in fact, we could make special requests to the housekeeper. We were also very touched by the generousity of Raoul and Alberto when we encountered an issue with our travel plans, whilst we did not take up their generous offer nevertheless it was very gracious of them to offer a solution to us. They were also very helfpful in offering itinary suggestions during our stay in Milan. Our family really enjoyed our stay at RossoSegnale.

Very unique B&B, because it doubles as an art gallery!! The entire house is wonderfully decorated and there's so much attention to detail. the 3 bedrooms are all decorated differently and most light fixtures if not all, are designer lamps (I love lamps). On the night stand there was a small jewelry box that had some rings and earrings designed by another artist that one could choose to buy. There were also some necklaces hanging in the room that were for sale. I loved that touch of showing a product in a way that was different and trusting the guest not to just take it without paying.
The rooms are super clean and the hosts make you feel at home. They recommended very good places for lunch and dinner, and were available to answer all our questions and fulfill our requests. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Milan. It's simply fantastic.
As a side note:
My husband prefers larger places because he's 190cm and feels that most rooms/beds in hotels/B&Bs are small. If you're an extra tall person the bed may be a bit too short.
I would anyway recommend it if you're normal sized :-)

This guest house is lovely and Raoul and Alberto are wonderful hosts! We arrived very late (about 11pm) but they immediately made us feel at home. The guest house is like a small art gallery with lots of great art throughout the property which the have obviously taken great care and thought to put together.

The breakfast was delicious. We were sorry to have to leave so soon! Thank you Raoul and Alberto for looking after us so well.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
It all began, just by change in a previous life, in Bologna. Actors and directors from DUSE theatre found a shelter in our place while on tour. A warm yet familiar place far from a cold Hotel room. Meet people, have exchanges, a whole outer world entering our every day things represented a new turn bringing some kind of awakening in our true some kind for hospitality, being for us people from Emilia Romagna an actual heritage. After landing in Milan, we got to this "garden quarter" a living neighborhood, close to the historical center of town, this building from the early 1900s just happened to fascinate us with its almost oriental, hidden back-yard but yet broad, bright and intimate. We renovated it, all over, aiming to a new concept for hospitality. This came from our experience travelling round the globe, to northern Europe in particular. Feeling as being home with all those details you maybe finding only if lodging in a 5 stars hotel. This is how RossoSegnale was born in three bedrooms B&B in Milan. Not only this. Keeping close to our all time passion, art, we made an art gallery, 3001 LAB, out of the original machine shop aimed to fulfill young artist's needs. Mechanic Pit has been turned into a bright art and design pieces show case just by roofing it with a walkable glass pane. Friendly as we are from deep inside we enjoy to be around people and this is why we often host events going from pre-dinner cocktail parties to music, reading and lot more. This isn't only about our guests of course but addressed to all of our friends from and to Milan visiting. Table available to guests ... more   less
