Location is superb. Just a stone's throw away from Piazza Duomo. Staff is soooo nice. They try to help you out as much as possible. 5 star in this respect. However breakfast room is too small, better do without cooked breakfast and had faulty telephone. Would still go there when in the lovely Milan.

Was only in Milan for 2 nites and the purpose was a nite at La Scala which was short walk from hotel. Glad I read reviews here first..the advice to look for the Rio sign was right on..a bit odd to enter on ground floor of what looked to be office bldg. and then take small elevator up to reception desk..which is in breakfast room..but it all worked.

Room was comfortable..no closet..just hangers on a rack, but room for luggage., safe, mini bar with free soda and water. Also had the rainfall shower with no place for anything.did get floor a bit wet...but okay for 2 nites. Did hear trams in the night, I think they stop about 2AM?, But birds in the AM and nice view of old Church.
Breakfast was good...and staff very friendly and helpful. They suggested and made res at restaurant near hotel for first nite, , Al Mercanti, which was perfect. Also circled other places of interest on map.

Didn't find any English channels on TV..but enjoyed Italian radio/video shows!
Steps from Il Duomo, La Scala, Metro stop....took Malpensa Express from airport, 12E, to Cardona..got Metro toIl Duomo...easy even after overnight flight !

Room Tip: Don't know if you can get away from tram, but worth a try! But then you might be next to, on to...

Excellent Location! 1 minute walk to Duomo and Duomo stations and just 1 minute walk to shopping - hotel is just located behind. When you walk out and go right throught he back alley, you pass a really cute patteserrie and into the main shopping street to find Zara, Bershka etc. Room was clean, toilet was a little weird with no proper shower but then again, doesn't matter as location was excellent and you can't ask for more. Hotel staff was also very thoughtful - when they knew our pillows were too soft they provided another for support. We needed a spare rollaway bed for one night and it was very comfortable.

Great service, excellent location and wonderful staff. The rooms are comfortable. I'll return a million times to this exceptional place. Just a few steps from Duomo, metro stations a lot of very good restaurants. The taxis are almost in front of the hotel. It has an elevator. New and clean. With safe in room.

Room Tip: You have to asks for a specific type of room meaning if you have problems to sleep there are room m...

Great location. Incredibly friendly staff. Was not listed on Tripadvisor so I had written in for it to be included. Although it lives up to its 3 star rating the location and the staff make for a 5 star experience. Breakfast room is too small...but who cares when you see the staff so willing to make you feel at home!

As almost everybody said before me: the biggest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is 1 minute away from the Duomo metro station, tram 16 stops in front of it. You can easily walk to the Duomo, the castle (Castello Sforzesco), the Brera district. the Scala Oper etc.

But in addition: the rooms are newly renovated with comfortable beds and fancy bathrooms. Actually, the bathroom for me was too "modern": with no place to put shampoo and other staff in the shower and with the "waterfall" shower which went on as default and was dripping all time :(
Furthermore, the doors are not really sound-proof, we could easily hear the receptionist argueing with somebody as our room was close to the reception. But I had my earplugs with me, so I had no problems with sleeping. As a plus, the room was very clean and spacious. The TV had channels with English and German languages, too. The wifi and the AC was working fine. The breakfast was good - especially when you compare it to the Italian standard. All our questions were answered with a smile.
All-in-all, it was a great experience, I can recommend this hotel with everybody.

A little confusing to find as on small card on door. But once you find and get your self up to first level then great from there. Look for hotel Rio as next door down. Lots of people outside door as tram stop right outside. Easy to get to taking Metro from train station. Location perfect and reasonable priced if your going to opera house as right on Duomo square.
