Hotel Atena is a good hotel if you are looking to stay at an inexpensive hotel in city center Milan. The rooms are small and have a funny smell but there is a good balcony to constantly air out the room. The balcony is good for air and ambiance, but bad if you want peace and quiet. There is a tram and vehicle traffic right outside, but this didn't bother us. There is free wifi, even though booking.com said it was 5 Euro/ hour. The bathroom shower stall is VERY SMALL so beware! The bed is not comfortable, but is okay for short stays. Breakfast is self-serve from 7:30am-10am. It includes pre-packaged croissants, expressor drinks, nutella, jam, cereals, juices, and fruit. The staff are not friendly, but for 60 Euro/night, I didn't mind. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the nearest bus stop #61 and 10 minutes walk to the neartest train station Porta Venezia. It is only a few train stops from the Duomo and shopping district. Overall, I liked my stay at Hotel Atena and would return again if I were to visit Milan for a short term stay.

the hotel is a very basic accommodation with small, but clean rooms and helpful staff. the hotel is reasonably priced, central, close to public transport and within walking distance of most tourist sites.

I stayed here with a colleague for one night in March 2010. It is a tourist style hotel, clean but badly in need of updating. Breakfast was basic but adequate.

Ten minutes walk from the City Centre and well placed for Porte Venezia station.

Fine for short stays, but would not recommend for a long term visit.

I stayed at Hotel Atena for a few weeks in July 2009, whilst studying in Milan.
The hotel is a family run place, in a great location, ten mins walk away from the center...
the rooms were kept clean everyday by the very friendlystaff....the hotel manager was excellent.... extremely helpful, kind, and really cared about the wellbeing of his guests during my stay there.
good value, great place to stay!

We stayed at the Atena Hotel in Milan Italy for a total of 3 nights. The room was small, european sized if you will, but it was always clean. Aside from the ceiling fan not working everything else was excellent. Fresh towels and clean sheets everyday, they even folded my pj's. The hotel staff was very friendly and forthcoming.
Walking distance we were only 15-20 minutes away from the city center. The money we payed was well worth the location and we still felt that we got a good deal.
Bottom line, I'd stay here again if all I am looking for is a place to crash after being out all day or night, but it's definitely not a place for luxury.

I was amazed with the location of this hotel. Really a 10 minutes walking from the Duomo, and close to a lot of nice streets, good restaurants, in a very nice neighborhood. But I was kind of shocked when I enter my room and saw the blue walls and the furniture, that was really really old.
The room was very clean but the look was horrible. If they painted the walls in white and bought new furniture, it would look 200% better.
I stayed there for 2 nights and it was enough. I don't think I could have stayed more. I'm not sure if I would stay there again, only if the paint the room in white and buy new furniture.

Hotel Atena has been my place in Milan for years. It is clean and cosy. Here every summer you can meet people from everywhere around the world in a friendly atmosphere. The workers are always nice and caring. The location is the best ever for it is close to everything and in the night it is calm and quiet for a nice night sleep.
The workers and owner are helpful and worry for your safety and pleasure time.
The place is clean and has a very good breakfast included in the fare price.
The prices of the rooms are excellent. I do recommend this hotel for everyone who intends to spend some days in Milan as well as to spend a long time. I have spent a Month!!! If you are going to attend any fashion or design courses this hotel is a walking distance from all institutes and in a very safe zone of the city. There are supermarkets close by and all transport facilities.
