The Hotel la Spezia is obviously a very new hotel. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable and you get the sense that you are one of the first to stay in it's rooms.

The hotel is located away from the city centre, but there is a metro station near by that is well connected to get you around the city. Additionally, a neighbourhood hosting a selection of great restaurants is nearby.

The hotel offers breakfast which is a great selection and great value for money.

The neighbourhood within which the hotel is located is a little bit rough, but its clear that there is a lot of development happening in the area. I would expect that this hotel will be ideally located and very popular in the next few years.

Not very close to the city center but easy enough to get to with the Metro - only a few blocks walk from Romolo station. Not much to see or do in the neighborhood but going downtown is easy with the Metro and you would have to pay considerably more for a similar hotel in the city center. This is also a good base when traveling by car on the southern side of Milan.

Very friendly and helpful staff in the reception, quick responses to emails prior to the stay.

Good quality basic breakfast.

Some noise from the street in the morning.

Bit of a trek from the Metro but a modern, clean and functional business style B and B hotel not to be confused with Uk 4 star. Sadly the free wifi did not work in the room so we had to sit in the bar to work- they do give you lots of snacks with your drinks though! Sadly no kettle and tea making kit in this room. There was however plenty of storage and a minibar(did not use) safe big enough for laptop and a hanging rail just for wet coats. Shower only with bidet and nice touch was spare toothbrush and paste plus a razor and cream- good when you cannot bring yours through airport. Very near motorway so we had to keep windows closed at night so it got stuffy. Aircon not going this time of year it seems. Windows did keep out noise effectively. Fairly decent breakfast plenty of fresh fruit cheese meat cold egg dishes pastries and cakes if you must but nothing low fat or gluten free or soya based. Very good local restaurant in Via Imperia used by staff who were helpful and friendly and a few other places to eat round about too. Big car park too.
Eyewatering expensive due to Milan Design week at 340 euros for 2 of us! It would have been marked very good if 100 euros mentioned by others!

Generally this is a clean modern property, handy for the romolo or famagosta m2 metro stations about 500m away. Usually stay here for €100/night. It's a 5 minute walk to the Naviglio Pavese area, and 10 minutes to Porta Genova / Naviglio Grande for dinner.

Breakfast is quite limited, and if you are diabetic, you'll need to bring your own cereal, as it's coco-pops and cakes. No restaurant, but a friendly bar week nights with crisps/olives etc.

Generally good, but if you have any specific needs, you need to push them to sort it out, or escalate it to management.

Room Tip: The wifi works best nearest to the lifts, if you are in a room at the far end it's flaky. Take a cat-5 cable just in case. Room temperature is limited to between 21c and 23c only, and you need a room at the back if you need to open the window as via la spezia is a fast road at night and plagued with ambulance and police cars. Don't open the window if it's mosquito season, and have a good look at the ceiling before retiring...

This hotel is good value, a lot less costly than other hotels in Milan. However, if you want to be close to the centre of Milan, this is not an ideal location. Rooms are small, with modern furnishings, but clean and well maintained. Breakfast was OK, nothing to get excited about.
Good hotel if you are on business, just need somewhere to stay a night or two and are not looking for any frills.
