“Unique Italian”
Reviewed 18 July 2013

This art hotel can only be Italian. It's all about looks, functionality always comes in second place. The hotel is built in a former perfume factory. Every floor has been decorated and styled by a different artist. Still, the remainders of the factory are clearly there and used by the stylists in their favour.
The rooms are special as well. The closets have curtains instead of doors, depending on your floor rooms might be very colourful. Despite the art, all creature comforts have been taken care off, the art is just and added bonus. The only downside is that the doors aren't very well isolated, so loud people in the hallway may wake you.
Breakfast is very good. There's a huge selection of bread and good, fresh orange juice. Room service is swift and the people at the reception speak decent English. This was my second visit to this hotel. That says it all.

Room Tip: Every floor has a different theme, so take a look first and then ask for a specific floor when check...

I stayed here on business for one night. I was really very pleasantly surprised by the decor and style, a bit like staying in a modern art gallery.

Room was good, clean, decor again arty and chic.

Hotel ambaince was young and vibrant and I really enjoyed it.

Breakfast good, service very good.

Not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Would definitely return when next in Milan.

The hotel lobby consists of a large areas of polished contrete, with the odd piece of "art" scattered here and there. On checking in, I found the staff to be on the curt side, even though I was the only one checking in and there was no queue.

Reception should provide you with a torch to find your way to the bedrooms, as the corridors are very dark, making it difficult to find your room. Internet access is chargeable and despite lots of artistic bells and whistles, there is no iron in the room, nor does the hotel offer a quick turnaround ironing service.

The room was only ok. Yes, the bed was comfortable, but the wardrobe was a muslin curtain over shelves (hard to describe), and it was on the small/medium size. There was a window that opened to a central courtyead area, but the opposing corridor had a view straight through the room.

Nearby there are bars and restaurants(15 min walk), but I would not feel comfortable walking the route after dark.

I moved to Nhow hotel booked by business travel coordinator after a rather lovely stay in Michelagelo hotel,Milan. I cann't describe the culture shock I had when I checked in. To start, I had a taxi from the central station costing about 20.00 Euros; there is no way you can arrive here with luggage in public transportation. The location is very bad except if you have business in the nearby.Itis surrounded by mega-store rooms and a lot of noices from nearby developments.
Using the metro; which is my usual favourite, is difficult as you have to walk about 700-800 meters in small lanes, possibly unsafe at night, no shades in noon, then you have to climb an bridge over the railway station, then get into P.Genova station. easier is to get into the nearby Tram station (No 14) which is frequent and an take you to the Duomo, but some trams are old style, no screen or audio announcements. You can not get help from driver. You have to count your stops and take landmarks on your way.
The area at night looks deadly and deserted.
The hotel ( and reception) looks like an art museum which might be seen (and left) particularly if it is not your style.
Corridors are gloomyscary and really with a stupid columns in the middle. Rooms are small and lacks a lot of necessities. For example, there are no drawers to keep your papers, no cupboard (Silly hangers covered by curtains), no kettle ,no tea/coffee.
The designer of Toillet and shower units seems to be a graduate of a mental hospital. There's only skinny non fitting glass door that either closes the shower, leaving toillet open or vice versa. Again, it's not sound proof, with all noises from shower or otherwise, well heard by other partners. The light system is again invented by that genius, any light anywhere in the room, will disturb the partner.
Breakfast is only still preserved and normal function of ordinary hotels;thanks God.
Internet is a pitty.Very slow, frequently interrupted, you need to get a username and password everytime it gets blocked.Forget about Youtube or functions needing high speed. The security of the internet is breached. Mymail was hijacked as well as a couple of my colleagues!!

Room Tip: Get another Hotel.

Neat hotel in a location a little off centre (but easy-access) to Milan (5 min on foot to tram - about 15 minute ride)
Rooms were clean, colourful and well-equipt.
The breakfast buffet was AMAZING! Excellent choices, fresh juice, even gluten-free options.
Cute little bar for after-hour drinks. (Service was a little slow).
Recommended for families and couples.
Overall a great 4-star hotel!

I stayed in a double room and asked for an extra bed which sets me back by Eu 100 for the 5 nights. It is not the usual type of hotel we used to. Although artistically designed like what was described some reviewer, I could not appreciate the elements at all. I stayed on the 5th floor and the colours on the walls were only drab black and white which tend to make the corridors gloomy. The room space was just adequate but the bathroom needed a bit of getting used to it. The common frosted glass panel/door acts as an entrance to the bathroom as well as a screen/door for the shower. Toiletries like shower gel, shampoo, soap are available but not the shaver kit or dental kit. There is no coffee making facility in the room but there is a safe and wireless internet is free for 24 hrs after which you will need to get another username and password from the reception. Breakfast is not too bad with coffee, juices, limited fruit cuts available. However, pastries and breads are aplenty. You need to specifically ask for poached or scrambled egg as there is no "egg counter". Getting to the city is not difficult. The nearest subway/metro (P.ta Genova, Green line) is 15 min walk. There is also a supermarket nearby for cheap stuffs. Restaurants are available, including Japanese, near the canal which is a short distance from the metro station. All in this 3 star hotel is a bit pricey.

Room Tip: All rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet.

Nice rooms and trendy setting.
Liked the bed, not the pillows
Nice Bar and Nice Breakfast
Unfortunately I find it very common now in all Hotels in Europe, except the ones in Portugal and the UK, have lousy Internet access. This one is no exception.
