“Awful location, and worse reception”
Reviewed 31 December 2012

The location is dreadful. Do not stay here if you want to go into central Milan.
The hotel made a mistake on our booking and charged us for staying two nights, we only stayed one night. When speaking to the manager about the situation he was arrogant, rude and smug about charging us the full price for the room. He refused to admit that his receptionist had made a mistake by booking us in a day early. I often use the radisson blu in London which is a great hotel. This has left a very bad taste. Rooms and facilities were average. For the price we were charged we could have stayed in a nicer hotel in central Milan.

We are a group of eight not young rugby fans who greatly enjoyed our visit. Very impressed with everything about the hotel. Superb, spacious rooms, very clean. Breakfast very good and plentiful. An easy journey by tram to the centre for the Duomo and other sites. All staff very helpful and friendly. Reception happy to supply tram tickets and information. A good supply of snow fell after we arrived. It did not cause any problems with the trams and added to the fun of our trip.

Room Tip: A peaceful location just a few metres from a main road.

Stayed on the business floor(6) and was very happy with the room. Clean, spacious and new... Driving from the hotel to Duomo is about 20mins but you won't find much around the hotel itself.... Nice breakfast room, good variety and good staff...

In summary: a fantastic hotel in an equally fantastic city. Make sure to visit the Piazza del Duomo - it's must-see status is highly warranted!

Location: Although located on the outskirts of Milan, its proximity to the Bovisa station and the MXP express to Malpensa airport means transfer to the airport is only a 10 minute walk away. Furthermore, the Villapizzonne commuter station is a 5 minute walk away, which will take you to the Pta Venezia station within about 15 minutes (4 stops, leaves from platform 2).

Room: As a Club Carlson Gold member, I was upgraded from a Deluxe room to a Suite. The suite was large, clean, modern and had all facilities you could need. I would bring out the coffee machine (genuine, Italian espresso made in seconds!) and the wide rain shower - WOW! On a final note, individual climate control in the office/living room space and bedroom areas meant I could do work and relax in comfortable temperature, whilst sleeping somewhere slightly cooler.

Facilities: I made sure to use the pool, and although slightly smaller than expected it provided for a relaxing yet stimulating swim. I have no doubts that the fitness centre, spa facilities and business centres match the high standards found elsewhere in the hotel.

Service: Extremely attentive service, both in person, over the phone and via email. All requests were dealt with immediately and to my full satisfaction - for example, I asked them to replace a flickering light in the bathroom, and this (and housekeeping!) was done during my one hour swim. Impressive. When using the one-touch service, one of the receptionists, Bruno, even addressed with me with my surname when I told him which room I was calling from. Details like these made the stay memorable.

Food: I had dinner in the restaurant one evening, and the waiting staff were, as all other staff in the hotel, friendly, efficient and professional. Waiting time for the food was very reasonable. The breakfast buffet was great, with a wide intercontinental selection as well as a specialisation within Italian pastry.

Pros: Attentive service with focus on details, room upgrades, status recognition, cleanliness of rooms, efficiency of housekeeping and maintenance, internet speed and reliability, food. Overall a great place to stay.

Cons: Location from city centre -- though the quiet area could as easily be a pro.

Room Tip: If you hold CC status or can otherwise get access to the suite, make sure you do. It's well wort...

Recently stayed in the Radisson Blu Hotel for three nights. Great hotel, very modern and clean. Nice staff. Breakfast is something to look forward with plenty of food to choose from. One of the downsides that we found is that its out of the way of everything, i recommend catching the tram or walking, as taxis are really expensive and seem to take the longest route possible. The restaurant in the hotel is expensive. There were no pubs near by to hotel the best place that we found was Navigli by the river.

The hotel is only three stops away from the Republica so it was really ok! The tram station is literally outside the hotel, so the day ticket is really handy. Breakfast was really nice with a great variety to cover all tastes! If you are not planning to stay out till too late consantly, it is a great hotel, with very good service, nice Radisson rooms, very good spa and great breakfast.

This hotel was a top secret spa hotel from last minute. It was about 3 subway stops from Republicca, and if you get the day travel pass is well worth the slight inconvenience. It is about €10 in a taxi from the centre. The hotel rooms where immaculate and the spa was very good. We used the pool, however the hydrotherapy area of the pool did not seem to be working. The breakfast was plentiful, and catered to all tastes. The only downside is that the hotel is in a residential area, so it isnt much use if you are wanting nightlife. However, if you are wanting a base for full days out, and a clean and tidy space to relax when you return, this is very good value for money.
