“Excellent hotel, but beware the extras!”
Reviewed 5 March 2011

Stayed at the Blu for my partners 30th birthday, and we weren't disappointed. I'd seen a travelzoo offer for the hotel and although it was outside our travel dates, the hotel agreed to match it - fantastic business room and breakfast inc for under 80€/night.

The hotel was very easy to find, outside the city but the tram stop was 50metres away and took you straight into the centre. The staff were all very helpful, they directed us to a fantastic restaurant, L'immagine - which I just checked and is currently #1 of 1,175 restaurants on here! We went there two out of three nights, it's literally a 5 min walk and well worth a visit.

One final point - although we had breakfast included, we decided to order room service the final morning - because we specified eggs, we were charged 20€! Bit naughty and wasn't a great parting memory but overall an excellent choice in a beautiful city!

The hotel is located in a nice, quiet and yet tourist part of Milan. We used taxi from the airport to get to the hotel, but there are a number of bus stops in front of the hotel, so other options might be available, too.

The room was brand new (one could instantly see the new items). It was clean. On a downside, it was a bit cold in terms of design: it was functional, but not welcoming. The bathroom, on the other hand, was very big. It did have showers/shampoos but the towels looked worn out.

The breakfast was 25 EUR, which we declined and enjoyed a nice meal in neighboring cafes for a fraction of the same price.

In sum, this hotel offers good options for sightseeing. And if you can get a newly renovated room - even better.

We spent 4 nights here during Feb, mainly travelling over to see Spurs play AC Milan at the San Siro. Got tickets for the match at 1 of many Intesa San Paulo banks-that's the way they sell them over here! Hotel was about 20-30mins from Doumo(city center) by tram no 12. Metro is also close by. Hotel was good, no real complaints. Breakfast was ok, although have had a lot better at other hotels. Large, comfortable room & bed. Not all that much else to do close by except for a few restaurants which we had a couple of meals in and were fine, around 20-25euro pp inc wine.
Milan itself was ok, wouldnt be fussed about coming back. Did a sight seeing bus tour, and just wandered around by foot. Some nice architecture.

We were staying here with my girlfriend for two nights in January for a weekend break. Reception staff looks tired of their job and not motivated and therefore a bit rude and not so helpful,as guests expect them to be - problem to be solved by the management. But at least when you smile to them first you get a welcoming smile back. :) When i was checking in, bellman was standing on the other side of the reception and looking to my eyes offering no assitance until i asked him myself. Later on the way to the room, speaking to him, i discovered that he is a very nice and helpful guy,but just not experienced in the hotel business, his name is Valentine. He has good opportunities in future, i wish him the very best!

Once in the evening i called reception and asked to give me an information about schedule of some nightclubs and being told by the receptionist with a cold as ice voice that they are rather busy and can't do it right now, they even didn't say that they will call me back or something - this is not acceptable for a 4-star hotel! The only one employee that impressed us with efficient and outstanding service is Housekeeping manager Micaela - i gve a separate respect to her! ;)

Hotel interior is chic and cozy, lobby is small but well furnished and comfortable. Standart rooms are fine and equipped with all needed amenities, later we've been upgraded to the Junior Suite which was much more inspiring and equipped with large bathroom and IPod docks. Location of the hotel as been said in previous reviews is not ideal - 15 minutes by cab from Duomo, this is not so good but it also has a reverse side - on the way to the centre you are able to see amazing streets and buildings. The surrounding area and the hotel is very quiet and it seems that they had very low occupancy and we felt like we are only one who is staying in the hotel, during our stay we saw only two guests in the lobby. A bit boring but we were not looking for a company anyway.

In total we did enjoy our staying in Radisson Milan! I hope that all lacks will be removed and service quality will be improved! Big Thank you to all staff for all efforts, especially to Bruno for your elegant service and the bright smile:), Alina for your help with concierge service and Andrea - for effective check out!

me and my wife went to switzerland first then on to italy to stay at the raddison blu milan!! as for service when we got there,it wasnt to bad we was met with a warm smile no help with the suit cases tho. anyway we booked in ( not before we was presented with a bargain breakfast price of 25 euro a day cut down to 20 euro if we took the offer there and then and the breakfast consisted of bread, cheese, ham etc thats right continental breakfast, for 25 euro not even a full english breakfast, madness! its fair to say we declined that wonderful offer) and went to our room, the room wasnt to bad, large room, large bath room only a shower no bath! even tho a nice shower its good to have a choice!! the t.v channels were all italian apart from bbc news, mtv would play a english show now and then,so for the room average! room service was a joke, 9 euro for a cup of tea and when it does eventualy come its cold on several ocasions,we got tired of saying can we have the tea hot please! we was in milan for a shopping slash relaxing spa weekend,no chance of that, the spa was a pool which was to cold to get in! then there was individual steam room and sauna so i couldnt chill with my wife, there was also a hot tub which was freezing aswell,no towels or shower gel in any of the shower cubicles! the gym was ok, as for getting around there is the tram for 1 euro which takes half hour in to milan then theres the train bout 10 mins for 6 euro, but if you wanna get there in couple minutes, taxi takes a few minutes for 12 to 15 euro depends on the taxi man if he wants to take a longer route!!!!! all in all this hotel is a joke, location, facilities! oh sorry as for the breakfast dilemma you can go up the road from the hotel and eat a large breakfast for 3 euro!

This hotel is outstanding. The rooms are large and comfortable, bathroom large with bath and separate shower. Proper hair dryer, not one of those awful fixed to wall things! We stayed on the 7th floor .- view of the Alps in the distance on a clear day. Everyone was very polite and friendly with a high level of service especially Bruno! (Thanks Bruno!) . The pool was not the warmest but adequate, the steam room was wonderful. Didn't use the gym.
The breakfast was outstanding (especially compared to the Ramada Plaza where we also stayed) Great selection for breakfast including smoked salmon. Only thing I could improve on would be some teapots, whilst the teacups are very nice design they don't hold much!!
This hotel is a little way out of the centre. Its about 15-20Euro in a taxi, but very easy to use the 57 bus or the No 12 tram. (tram is easiest if you want to come back in the dark!! Hotel sells tickets for Bus/Tram/Metro.
Fantastic restaurant just around the corner - Immaginaire Bistrot. Incredible value for money and excellent food - shared an antipasta (enough to feed 3 at least!) followed by a main course, bottle of Presecco and free Limoncello for 2 all for 41Euro!!
Milan express bus is a very easy way to get into the centre of Milan from the airport 7.50 Euro each.
This hotel is clean, stylish totally great and I can't wait to go back. Milan is a lovely city.

Stayed at the Radisson Blu for three nights. Very nice hotel although somewhat away from the Duomo (City Centre). There is a tram stop at the end of the road which takes half an hour to get into the City Centre (and only costs 1 Euro), and a train station about 10 mins walk away, the train only takes about 7 minutes. Didn't have any problems getting around on the transport system, trams, trains and metro all very reliable and cheap.

The hotel itself was very clean. Didn't realise they had a spa, gym and swimming pool so didn't take any clothes suitable for using those, but definitely would have if we'd known. The rooms were very large, king size bed and the biggest shower I've ever seen.

The staff were very helpful especially Bruno on reception who helped us navitage ourselves around the city and explained how the trams/metro and train tickets worked (just buy one ticket and you can use any transport link). Also Matteo behind the bar is a lovely guy and very helpful.

The San Siro was easy to get to, took the tram into the city centre and then the metro to the Lotto station, can get there quicker in a taxi but we headed off early to beat the rush.

All in all a very nice hotel and would definitely recommend it.

On the downside the food in the restaurant was a bit expensive.
