Unfortunately I cannot say anything about the food since we left the place (while the owner/manager was clapping and had a smile in his face). We tried this place because it was recommended by many sites, including TripAdvisor, but I cannot recommend it. First we were seated near the kitchen while better tables were available. Then we were kept waiting for service for almost 30 min. When the menu was finally brought to us, it was waved and fanned at our face and thrown to the table. Other customers arriving later had service before us. It was not just bad service, but also the attitude and comments of the owner and waitresses. My husband (American of Asian descent) and my sister (Italian citizen also of Asian descent) are fluent in Italian and heard their comments. In short, stay away from this place if you look Asian. The reviews rated poor and terrible here were made mostly by Italians. That tells you something.

Typical old fashioned "osteria" on the canal in Milan. My husband and I went in around 8:00 for dinner and the staff was very attentive. After ordering wine, they immediately gave us a plate of cheese with honey (on the house). I ordered a fabulous risotto with sweetbreads for a starter, then grilled cuttlefish with a fennel and blood orange salad. The wine selection is excellent and the service is superb! We will definitely return again. Prices are also very reasonable!

My wife and I ate here in October 2012 and again in March 2013 and on both occasions the place was excellent. It is a traditional style restaurant with great decor and a really nice feel to it. The staff seem to be a family, really straight forward and fun. The place is usually pretty busy after 8.30pm but you can get a walk-in table before that easily. Food is great. Wine list extensive and not pricey. On the canal. What more do you want?

Visited this restaurant in the end of October. Nicely situated in a great neighbourhood in Milano. Restaurant is cozy and full of local people. The menu offers authentic Italian food and a good winelist.
There is no background music in this restaurant but that doesn't matter at all because people seem to be enjoying themselves and chatting a way.
Charming place with pleasant service.

On our last day in Milan - we took the metro out to Naviglia. There are many restaurants along the canal - some rather highly priced and offering some fusion cooking. We decided to try Le Vigne as it seemed traditional and there were alot of local diners.

The restuarant has a traditional interior with many black and white photos of times gone by.

We ordered the Beef steak and Mozzarella salad for main course. Both dishes were beautifully served and very tasty. For deserts we enjoyed the best home madeTirimusu we have ever tasted. For drinks we ordered half litre of house red and water plus cafe. The restaurant kindly offered a glass of lemoncella to finish. The total bill €39.00 - great value for lunch.

Naviglio is a little metro ride out from the centre - Porta Genova takes just 20 mins but it is well worth the trip to get away from the hussle and bussle of the centre of Milan and experience the canals and another aspect of Milan.
