where should i start? the hotel has no parking place not even for fee, the lobby is very small , i got room 28 pls. avoid!! it is under the stairways to the first floor (no elevator) the room was very nosiy as you could hear people above walking, TV was very small screen, breakfast is 5 euro and there is not even a sausage or meat, not eggs it is much less that european standats.
the guy in the lobby was not polite, next day there was a lady in the reception and she was very nice and helpfull, we could get some recomendation on resturants etc.
ahe was the only sunshine in the hotel!!

Room Tip: not room 28

All round, a very good experience - nothing to complain about at all, and no misrepresentations in recent reviews except that we did not have a problem with the bed - it was perfectly ok.

The really good thing about breakfast is a self-service drinks machine which you can customise to your own needs, since we all have our own opinions about breakast tea and coffee!

I booked direct via the hotel website and was very quickly contacted by a member of the hotel staff to point out that it apeared I had made a double booking; I was not able to cancel one of them, He did it for me, and the whole exchange was very friednly and without fuss.

We stayed in the hotel from 25 Aug to 1 September. It is an excellent and cozy hotel with excellent location near the railway station Pavia.
The rooms are spacious, clean with all amenities.
The staff is most curteous and helpful.

We recommend the hotel to all visitors in Pavia.

I am a graduated student of Hotel management and worked for IHG for a short time . Because of this, i have my own opinion if this Hotel . First one , the hotel occupy not much square , but everything inside the hotel is not small , it totally use all of the space ... even the smallest size single room is enough for you and your suitcase . Second , “hardware" ... everything is new , i think i can not find out a anything dissatisfy me .. teapot .. teabag .. TV .. even that night is raining and thunder , i can not hear anything . but when other people use the key for open the door , i hear it ..hahah....enjoy a good night ..
Third ... "software " Nice staff !! I arrival at late night , and i ask information for the University , the receptionist is very patient for correct the point on the map for me .. when i am back i asked her wifi password , she still with smile and answer my question .
I have to say , the hotel fit for my standard , do not forgot i used to work in a huge hotel and it is famous ... if there must be something that not that good or not that perfect , i think is the breakfast is not that much kind of ... 5 Euro is expensive price for this ..

Thank you to everyone at Hotel Aurora for making our stay in Pavia so easy, so welcoming, helpful, tolerant of my attempts at Italian, and totally hospitalble staff. Such a brilliant location, with the train station just two minutes walk, then 20 minutes into Milan - all fabulous, thank you

In the tree lined avenue leading to Pavia Railway Station, (2 minutes away) is the Hotel Aurora. It is a smaller Hotel and the rooms are basic, with air-conditioning & TV (Italian only), but very comfortable. There is a small lobby and Bar with an adjacent room for Breakfast. The Breakfast is highly recommended. The staff are excellent, helpful at all times, and speak good English. If you do not want to walk far to a Restaurant there is one next door attached to the Hotel Moderno. We had 5 enjoyable days in Pavia and enjoyed the quiet of the Hotel Aurora.

Room Tip: A three bed room is a better size.

My wife and I have just spent a delightful week in Pavia, visiting our grand-daughter who is a student at the town's university. We decided to stay at the Hotel Aurora and were delighted with our choice. Only a minute from the railway station, this is an excellent hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Situated in a beautiful tree-lined avenue the Aurora is surprisingly quiet, given it's proximity to the station. We did not hear any noise from trains, traffic or anything else.
Desk clerks Luca and Matteos, Anna and her husband (also named Luca) were particularly helpful whenever we required their assistance about finding our way about. Breakfast is well worth the price at 6euros...quite frankly you would not be able to find anything costing so little at any of the town's cafes. Cereals, yoghurt, fruit, croissants, cake, crackers, cheese and toast are all available - just eat as much as you want. Various strengths of tea and coffee are also available.
Our bedroom also had tea making facilities which surprised us as we had not picked that up from the hotel's web site. We should have checked with the hotel first as it would have saved us bringing along our travel kettle in our suitcases. Finally, we want to stress just how immaculately clean the hotel is - we would definitely stay at this gem of a hotel again, next time we return to Pavia. Absolutely top rated.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 22, cosy double bed with an additional bed/settee.
