I love cars, but would never call myself a car enthusiast. But this museum was great fun. It takes you on a journey from the earliest automobile and shows the affects world history had on its development - right through modern cars and prototypes! Each auto is described, pointing out its unique features and impact it had on future generations.

All types of autos are displayed, from the classic, sports and everyday mundane. If you are in Turin, you owe yourself a visit!

Take your time for a visit,, the cars go from a wooden model after a design of Leonardo da Vinci of an independent moving vehicle to actual F1 racing cars and everything in between.
Many possbilities to sit down and see movies and ancient commercials of various cars, for instance an american one showing the new Chevrolet in 1961. worthwile !

I have never seen so many old cars together, in one place - something like 160 cars from about 80 countries.
Housed in a very large modern building, on the outskirts of Turin - it is Bus Stop No. 4 if you take the "Blue Line" Hop on Hop Off tour route.
It is a "must" for Car Buffs !

Of course being in Turin, one can not pass on the Museo dell'Automobile located where FIAT used to assemble their cars. Location is easy to find as it's not far from Eataly Turin. What's also nice is that photography is allowed.

A truly fascinating museum, whether you're a car enthusiast (like me) or not (like my husband). They have a wonderful selection of early cars, well-labelled with almost all the facts you want to know; excellent presentations of motoring's pre-history, early history and great moments; and lots of interesting films and videos you can sit down and watch, resting your museum feet. We were also fascinated by the displays on the growth of motoring and the economics of car production in various world countries. The labelling became less reliable as we reached today's supercars, but they looked great! We meant to leave in time for a nice lunch in the Lingotto shopping complex but couldn't tear ourselves away in less than four hours.
