“Good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

I've been there for about 20 nights both in summer and winter, in 3 different rooms. Royal is my first option for Turin.

Pros:
Reception is very professional and flexible departure time.
Good value
Breakfast is fine (considering the price, but a bit below 4 stars hotel standard)
Rooms are large and comfortable, clean, with a nice bathroom.
Cleaning staff is ok with flexible time-window.
Everyone is very kind.
Good parking.
I've asked for a baby-bed in the room and I've got a proper one (got some bad surprise somwehere else), for free.

Cons:
Restaurant is often (always ?) closed
Had problems with window (locked) in one of the room.
Both heathing and cooling should be improved, the main issue is that you have only "off-on" and it's hard to manage a proper stable temperature.
Hotel has two lifts but they are a bit small (doors are smaller than current standard), and there are 4 steps before reaching the elevators (unless you are coming from the parking).
Some rooms are better then other.
Not close to city centre.

Room Tip: 2nd floor and above seem to be better than 1st

Stayed for one night whilst on a recent business trip.

Sadly, this hotel is a little too far away from the centre and if you are looking for a snack late in the evening then your only option is take a taxi, as there is nothing within reasonable walking distance.

Although my room was very clean and the bed reasonably comfortable, the bathroom was really in need of re-configuration. The positioning of the shower on the side wall of the bath meant that the water just poured on to the floor from the lack of seal around the glass partition over the bath.

Breakfast was distinctly average with the cold offerings far superior to the hot - but only marginally!
Service on the front desk was sporadic and certainly not "service with a smile - but service with an attitude" and when i asked for help with online check in for some flights ....well that was impossible!

Would i stay here again - only if it was the only hotel with availability!

A friend booked this hotel for us - over a bank holiday so lucky to get a good rate with breakfast included. The room was very clean and comfortable however breakfast left a bit to be desired - the continental side is fine although all the hot drinks/juice come from a machine. The 'hot' options are left in a heated server and do not appear to be replenished even though breakfast is served until 10am - case of pot luck we thought!
Although a bit outside of the city there is a tram stop directly outside the hotel which takes you straight into one of the main piazza's so very convenient. A point to note here is that you have to purchase your tickets at the local bar and punch them in the machine upon boarding the tram.
The staff on reception were very pleasant and helpful - one particular receptionist - Anna Julia - went out of her way to answer all our questions and offer suggestions.
Wouldn't necessarily stay here again because of the location but would recommend for a short stay.

Room Tip: On a main road so rooms at the front are quite noisy although they do have electric shutters but thi...

We have stayed with family in this hotel for New Year. Reception service is very policte and hopeful, they have helped to book restaurant for New Year and guided at best in every request we had. Breakfast was not at the top, but still convenient. Location is several stops on tram from the center. Cleaning and room facilities were good. As the summary could recommned for family stays if you plan to visit only Torino.

Te hotel is good but the room is a little small, average cleaning, breakfast not at the level of a 4 star hotel, no gym, friendly people at desk and for breakfast,
we did not expect anything special, just a little more space in the rooms and a little gym.

Booked cheapy on web as passing through. We were in high season so suspect everyone else had left the city for the beach! Ended up in a 2 room apartment behind a 'secret' privado door. Our room and son's room was glam and very comfortable - may be a special apartment for 'special' people! Not sure about other rooms. Had breakfast included and that was interesting! Staff vaguely acknowledged us, OK but a bit ravaged. Asked for more scrambled eggs as run out and looked like they'd been reheated - rubbery, peppery and tepid - gross. Two incredible friendly and helpful woman staff members on recepetion.

Room Tip: ask for the 'secret rooms' behind the 'privado' door!
