“Excellent street food”
Reviewed 30 April 2013 via mobile

This is a very very small place in the city center of Turin where you can find a special and wonderful street food.
Do you know waffel? Grofri is very similar but thinner and lighter.
You can eat it with more or less everything you can imagine: from ham to chocolate (hopefully not togheter!)

If you want to have a quick lunch with a tasty typical dish try this place! It's absolutely perfect!

“flavours from the past...”
Reviewed 12 February 2013

We were looking for a quick lunch in the city centre, but at the time of our trip many restaurants were closed for holidays or looked like traps for out-of-towners and foreigners. By chance we entered the tiny "Gofreria". Despite its appearance It isn't the usual take-away. It serves fresh homemade cooked "gofri", a sort of ancient "focaccia". The dough contains neither eggs nor milk, so "gofri" are light and crispy, and you can have them filled with jam, cheese, pepper sauce...They say it's a 18th century recipe, anyway you should try it! The owner is kind and he's glad to tell you the story of this "street food". Prices are fair, bearing in mind that Turin is a very expensive town.
