Owner description: The Medieval Castle at the Valentino Park was built to host the Ancient Art section of the 1884 Turin Expo: along the Po river and surrounded by walls, the richly furnished castle rises above a small cluster of houses and workshop. The buildings and the decorations are faithful copies of 15th century castles as most indications for the furniture and the settings came from the Civic Museum of Ancient Art. Within this great exhibition, that was meant too promote the industrial, technological and bussiness development of the city, the medieval castle was intended as an educational and promotional tool.

“Nice”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Pleasent afternoon pass-time with children. Combine the visit to the Borgo with a calm walk or bike through Valentino park.

“Worth a stroll through.”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

If you are going to Valentino Park, which you should, this area is worth a stroll through. It is free if you do not want to go inside the buildings. There is a lot to look at and a gift shop.

“only if you have a lot of spare time”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

we only walked through the free part and the paid for gardens and not the castle which had a fee- it is a mock up of a medieval village. It had a small art exhibition which was good. The gardens were very small and rather disappointing. The rest was very touristy but quite a pleasant jaunt if walking through the beautiful park

“A nice outing but not a must-see”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

If you or your family members have not seen a medieval castle or town before, this re-creation will be very enjoyable for you. It can be seen in an hour, easily. While not an authentic castle, it is well done with integrated elements from actual towns and castles from all around Italy.
