We booked the hotel for its location and the glowing reviews on here and we were not disappointed. A family run place with superb service, fabulous food and incredible attention to looking after their guests. We travelled with our two young boys (3 and 2) and were made very welcome. The little play area for young kids was a big hit and our family bedroom had an alcove with a double bed for the boys, which worked very well.
It happened to be my birthday during our stay and Karl surprised us with a glass of champagne at breakfast! I thought my wife had said something but no - they had noticed the birth date from my passport - a very pleasant start to our day :-)
We knew that the restaurant is closed on Sundays and we fully expected to get dinner in town that day, but it was a wet day and Margot offered to open the restaurant at an agreed time for us. It was very considerate, a big help with the boys and Karl made us all a delicious meal.
When we checked out, we were even given a lift to the train station. The hotel is on a hill so with luggage and two boys, this was obviously very welcome.
All in all, a great find and we are already planning another visit!More
