“Simply a great place!”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

There are just so many haters around that may deceive you in your choices by complaining about ANYTHING for no reason cause they don't know where they are and they're expecting to find the place THEY want.
The hotel was EXACTELY as described, and I can't but agree with all Ctroglodytes says, as our vacation this summer was just perfect.
We arrived there with our son (14 months) from Miami and they've been always incredibly attentive to our needs. In fact, when we had a problem with him (as he got a cold during the flight), they personally called the local pediatrician in order to help us with all the info and directions to get there as soon as possible.
They let us use their kitchen either to cook for our son! That to me it's definitely a plus!
The rooms were perfectly clean and there were a lot of space for our son to run around without any worries (I'd say our room was in effect baby-proof!).
The location is just perfect, away from car noises and it's just 5 minutes from the city center! "A bit of a hike to downtown??" You're in the mountains for Heaven's sake! It's like going to a seaside place and complaining about the salt!! Whatever...
No refrigerator and no AC in the rooms aren't that big deal as you may read from the negative comments below, cause the rooms have always been fresh and just right temperature (just keep the windows opened with the shutters closed and you'll see that you don't need the AC at all). Plus, it is written in the amenities on the website, so if you really want to store your stuff in a cold place, get a freaking portable fridge and rejoice with your beer!!
We were so in love with the place that we wanted to stay more so we asked the owner two days before our supposed check out and she kindly extended our staying without a problem, even though she had her agenda and reservations almost full.
To sum up: this is a REALLY NICE PLACE to stay and enjoying the beauty that surrounds you. If you're so spoiled that you need an AC, a personal chef that can be disturbed at any hour of the day because of your cravings or you don't want to hike around in a mountain place (oh God!), do yourself a favor and look for one of those snobbish spa where they also chew for you and be prepared for another fake experience of healthiness. Leave this place to people who actually enjoy being in contact with nature and are less picky when it comes to rate properly a really honest, family-like service and hospitality.
Heavily suggested!!

Please disregard “Richworklife’s” unfair and inaccurate review. I just returned from an excellent vacation at the Hotel Savoy. I've lived in Rome for 10 years and have stayed in a variety of hotels throughout Italy and Europe. Considering the price and comparable surrounding hotels, this is a fine hotel and a good value.

To address “Richworklife’s” main points: The breakfast is very good, particularly by Italian hotel standards, with a hearty offering of meats, cheeses, homemade bread, yogurt, granola, etc. The 'hike to downtown' takes about 1 minute, and we actually preferred this location to staying in the town center. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with hardwood floors, nice beds and small but functional balconies. We found the proprietor to be quite nice and helpful. Indeed, the hotel is near a barn. One of many scattered about the countryside, which is part of the area's charm. Lastly, the hotel is in fact located one block from a small country road, as indicated on any map. We did not hear any cars from the hotel.

I took the time to write this review (my first on Tripadvisor) because owners of small hotels depend on Tripadvisor ratings for their livelihoods. If you are looking for a nice, well-located b&b with a good breakfast and a mellow dog, the Hotel Savoy is a fine choice.

This place was woeful. Stayed with friends for 3 nights in July. The furniture is ancient and the staff are horrible, grumpy old women. The breakfast was the worst we had in Europe. Location is ok, but definitely a bit of a hike to downtown. Right behind a farmhouse so you can choose the smell of manure or the sound of cars on the main road.

The hotel website is very deceiving, and when we arrived we were very disappointed considering the price of a room. Read the cancellation policy carefully because they are not flexible if you want/have to leave early, even if you give three days notice. The one good quality was the breakfast, it was a very nice spread. After a beautiful day hiking the Alpe di Suisi, it was really depressing to return to our room. It was very cold but the sauna wasn't on and there was no refrigerator in the room to keep picnic supplies. There is wifi but you can only use it downstairs and it is 3euro/hour. (Charging for wireless internet just seemed greedy to us--and other than cheap camping sites this is the only place we stayed where this happened). The hotel in itself isn't terrible, we just expected a lot more for the price, after looking at the lovely pictures on their website, and in comparison to the many other hotels we stayed during our trip. We would definitely not recommend it.
