“A Must While visiting South Tirol”
Reviewed 31 August 2012

The gardens were beautiful, although it was end of August a lots of flowers were blooming. We enjoy coffee at the lake terrace cafe, walk along the paths with all the other tourists. The sunflowers were a perfect background for our "artistic" photographs. The lily pond by the lake was very nice, blooming in white and pink. Most enjoyable and recommend place to visit while in north Italy and south Tirol. The ticket cost 10.8 euro and 22 euro for a family of 4.

“it's a Must”
Reviewed 31 August 2012

I find this castle via tripadvisor. We traveled many times to north Italy and Garda lake, and only now I discover this magnificent place. They had an exhibition about the beginnings of truism at south Tirol.
it was nice and interesting especially because they focus on the contribution ofthe Jewish truism to this area. along the exhibition it was mention that they had 8 koshers hotels. They even wrote the unhappy ending of Merano's Jewish population, that got murdered by the Germans during WWII. a sine on the wall had all the names of the Jewish of Merano memorize their names by alphabetical order. The castle itself is a nice museum who shows memorabilia of the famous empress Elizabeth-Sisi.

July is maybe not the best time to enjoy all the potential of the garden but we found the Trauttmandorf one of the best gardens in a great landscape.

“Botanic gardens”
Reviewed 23 August 2012

Fantastc gardens, much better than the Eden Project in Cornwall. Plants were very well labelled, routes were easy to find. Relaxing. Full day.
