This was our fourth visit to Meran and our second stay in the Flora. I reviewed it last year and this review is just to say that it's as good as it was, perhaps better! I'll not repeat the details of my earlier review, but will jsut say that it's a small three-star hotel, with modern decor and clean, comfortable rooms in a tree shaded street in a quiet residential area. It's decor is simple and stylish. All rooms have balconies, and ours looked over a quiet garden. There is a swimming pool with loungers there and in the garden and a roof terrace. Breakfast is really excellent, with a good choice of cereals, breads, juices, meats, cheeses, teas, cooked options and tasty jams.

The staff are consistently friendly and helpful - we could not fault them.

The location of the hotel, by the river and only a short walk away from the town centre is a particular advantage.

We will probably be going back to Meran next year and I hope we can stay at the Flora again.

Room Tip: All rooms have balconies. They have larger suites as well as double roioms.

We were on a Cosmos Alpine countries bus tour when we stopped for an overnight at the Flora. What a very nice hotel residence located in Meran, the South Tirol part of Italy. This hotel has it all, location, clean, very friendly and hard working staff, family run. It's modern, light and bright, with even a small kitchenette in their standard room. The breakfast buffet was the best we found in Italy! The hotel does not have a restaurant, but gives you a little card for a 10% discount at various restaurants within walking distance, with a map on the back of the card to direct you. The old Spa building and concert hall are a 5 to 10 mintute walk along the river. Can't say enough about how well we were treated there, even though we arrived as a group for only one night. We will stay there again for a longer time, when we are in the South Tirol again. Thank you!

This place is a little gem. Only a few minutes walk along the promenade to the town centre. The staff are excellent. If you want a nice clean place to stay that is close and affordable, then this is it. The pool is nice and WiFi too.

I accompanied my husband on a business trip to Meran and we stayed an extra night to explore Meran and visit the wonderful gardens at Schloss Trautmannsdorf. The location of the hotel is excellent - very central, in a residential area on the riverside and a short walk from the town centre. It is modern and well-appointed but not flashy.

Our room - we had a standard one - was well-equipped and the bed was comfortable. There was a small balcony where you could sit and also dry clothes - drier provided. There were kitchen facilities in the room which could be used for an extra charge. If you were staying for a week this might be worth considering, but we didn't need them for our short stay. There are a few free parking spaces in front of the hotel and garage space is also available at 9 euros per night.

The breakfast was absolutely excellent. I could not fault it. They offered a wide range of bread, preserves, juices, fruit, cereals, nuts and seeds, cold meats, cheese, cooked options - and cake, as well as teas of all sorts and coffee.

The hotel had an inviting-looking swimming pool and a terrace with a hot tub. Sadly we did not have time to try either of these. We did have fun at the nearby Friday market, where we took the opportunity to do a bit of early Christmas shopping, as well as buying some local specialities to take home for our fridge. We also had excellent ice cream from the ice cream parlour on the riverside as you walk into the centre of town from the hotel - highly recommended.

We noticed that there were many trips from Meran on offer from local firms so you could stay there for a week and have plenty to do. These were publicised at the hotel. Meran is a beautiful town with old-world charm and modern facilities. The opportunities for walking are great, and there is a really good range of independent shops in which to while away an afternoon or early evening.

Room Tip: The standard room was absolutely fine for our purposes. The more expensive ones have more facilities...

We came to this gem through a Cosmos tour. An excellent location with excellent staff. Very close to the town center via a charming river walk. Everywhere was spotless. The hotels serves an very good breakfast and there are many good eating places in the town that an evening meal service is not required. My partner had the misfortune to have an accident in Bolzano and was taken to the local Merano hospital for surgery so I had an eight night forced stay here. The family run hotel looked after me and were a great help. The owners Barbara and Pippi have excellent staff and they should be of very proud of Stephannie, Marion and Disiree for such high standards of customer service. They all performed over and above the norm.

We, 2 adults and an 11yr old stayed 2 nights in an apartment 201. The apartment was a very large room which was spotless and really we could not fault it in any way. Reception staff were very freindly and helpful and gave good suggestions of things to do and places to eat.
Both the outdoor pool and the hot tub were bliss after a days sightseeing/walking.
Internet worked well. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. Staff were agian very friendly and helpful.
The other big positive about hotel flora was the fact it was very central to the town center. A very pleasent 5/10min walk along the river path would take there.
Thanks to all for a very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

We stayed in June 2012 for 2 nights. The hotel is really clean and they offer the best breakfast. We have a 10 month baby with eczema so I was a bit worried about his food while we are traveling but they had fresh bread, lovely fruits, a few kinds of cereals, eggs, hams...you name it. They even had soya milk for my son as I'm avoiding cow's milk. As everything was freshly and wonderfully prepared, he enjoyed his food...so were we! The other thing I loved about the hotel was the mattress. Even you stay an expensive hotel, you don't come across "fantastic" bed mattress that often but their ones but I loved theirs!!! I do comfortably recommend this hotel to you!
