We stayed here early April of 2012.

The good: very easy to walk from the train station to the hotel and also very easy walking access to the old town area. Additionally, the front deck had staff that spoke English well. The rooms were clean (but I wouldn't say comfortable)

The bad: the hvac is either heat in winter or ac in summer, should you be there in an "unseasonable" weather spell, good luck. Also, no wifi in the rooms. They do have a LAN cable (which doesn't work for an iPad) or wireless in the lobby for 5 Euros per 24 hour period. Lastly, the beds were hard.

The Grand Hotel in Trento Italy is quite ok altough a bit pricey for what you get. The rooms are a bit too small and dark while the cleanliness level seems to be very good. Breakfast is somewhat lacking considering you are in Italy, while its position is very centrally located. Parking is free and the staff is very helpful.

Grand Hotel Trento is a well located hotel with nice lobby and common areas, as well as a polite but a bit cold young staff. Everything looks very new and spotlessly clean. The room is big, marbled bathroom and overall very good compared to other 4 star hotels, with furniture and decoration over the typical 4-star hotel.
My cons: No AC outlet near the bed (this seems to be fashion these days, and is a bit inconvenient for the traveler). Pay-only Wi-Fi Internet, although but reasonably priced (5 EUR, 24 hours to be used at your wish, not all together from the first connection). My bed seemed a bit over-used, definitely not as comfortable as expected.
Pros: Excellent breakfast: not as many choices as in other places but more than enough for a one day stay, where the good quality produce (e.g. the fruit is no from the cheapest fruit shop in town, as many hotels do, it is really tasty!) must be remarked. Ample working space for comfortably working with your laptop. Very well located, and very silent at night.
I would definitely go back.

We booked a night at this hotel as we wanted to spend a day and night in Trento visiting a friend. We found it to be lovely. It was clean with good facilities and excellent communal areas. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed views of the mountains from our window. The breakfast was excellent and the parking was easy enough. It was perfect for what we wanted. Just to set the record straight the parking is 11 euros a day (that's what we paid) and although our room had an adjoining door you didn't notice it as it is tucked away in the small reception area as you enter the room. The staff were also excellent here and very helpful.

My wife and I have used this central hotel several times, always for short periods (2-4 days) in the past few years. It's not perfect, but its many good features made us return: the personnel is generally very kind, the public areas are spacious and pleasant, the breakfast is generous and of good standard. The architecture of the hotel, while perhaps not to everyone's taste, is quite interesting.

The rooms are generally more than OK (given the price) in terms of size, comfort, quiet and decor (and we have had our fair share of views from 2nd to 5th floor - obviously they vary considerably!). The sore point for us is the lack of wifi (only ethernet cable), and on the last occasion a room communicating with the adjacent one via a normal door (thankfully locked!) that made it possible to hear conversations. Breakfast time can be quite hectic if your visit happens (as it often does) to coincide with that of a large group or conference, but the personnel have always coped with aplomb. And the breakfast room is very nice.

Overall good 4 star standards and one of the best value for money in Trento.

Nice lobby, very nice staff. Clean. The room is OK, but not one from a 4 star hotel. You have an old tv, cramped spaces, no (!!!) AC outlet near the bed, and only one on the desk (which makes it very challenging to recharge my iPad and iPhone).
Average to below average breakfast.

In short the typical 4 star italian Hotel. nice people, but always one star over the real deal. it would make it a perfect 3 star hotel

Dear Guest,
I'm sorry to hear that you did not appreciate our room during your stay with us. Most of our guests love our service and design, but we do understand it is not to everyone's taste.
May I say that our Tv's are only four years old and that obviously we disagree with your rating.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Trento in the future.
