From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. This is a small personal hotel run by a lovely local family.
The staff were 'sensational'
The rooms were spacious for a ski hotel and cleaned and tidied to a high standard everyday with fresh towels and a change of linnen. Lots of hot water
One piece of advice is to only have a light lunch as the food is of an excellent standard with generous portions and something for everyone on the menu every evening.Great selection of local wines and reasonably priced.
Close to the piste....Why stay anywhere else???

After reading positive feedback regarding this hotel, I decided to book it. I must admit that I wasn't (entirely) disappointed.

Pros:
The hotel is in a prime location. Walking with skiing boots is not ideal - the hotel is not more than 5 mins away from skiing facilities. Big tick.

Single room was ample. Big bathroom and bedroom. Very clean. Didn't real need more.

Breakfast was good - I do not know why people complain that it was repetitive. Go to a 5-star. Cereals, honey, yoghurt, bread, croissants, cookies, fruit pate', nutella, juices etc with ham, eggs, cheese ordered from the kitchen (free).

Cons:

- reception definitely NOT as friendly as I read on previous reviews. One of the owners only smiled at me when I handed her my credit card to pay my remaining balance. Sour puss. Other two were nice. I still do not think they went out of their way to be welcoming. Sorry - it is the truth. On the other hand, staff in the dining room were superb!

Unfortunately, my room was on top the dining room and could hear constant noise at night especially when chairs and tables were being dragged for cleaning or preparations for the next day. Wasn't too happy about that.

Overall, would return. Not in a heartbeat though.

We read the reviews of this hotel and hoped not to be disappointed, we were then suprised this hotel really is as good as people have said .... if not its better. The rooms are warm and clean, the location is perfect and the food is out of this world even the drinks in the bar are cheaper than in town and the staff are friendly and helpful. When we left we forgot our ski boots in the ski room, Cristiana then posted them back to us.... what a service.. !!!!

This was our fourth time in Cervinia, having previously stayed in the Jumeaux (once) and Excelsior Planet (twice), but we have always wanted to try the Mignon. In essence, I would say that the Excelsior Planet & Mignon are very similar in service and quality, but in terms of value for money and atmosphere, the Mignon is far better. The three friendly and helpful sisters run a very efficient hotel and are keen to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.
Our bedroom was very pleasant having a balcony overlooking the main street. The ensuite included a wc, bidet, shower and personalised toiletries. Although not mentioned on the hotel website, it is worth noting that the hotel has Wi-Fi and the bedrooms include a safe, flat panel LCD televisions with Sky (Press “i” on the remote to change language to English on the film channels), a kettle for making tea & coffee and a hairdryer in the ensuite.
It is definitely worth staying half board as the 5-course evening meals are excellent, both in quality and value. On one evening, the choice of main course did not appeal to our daughter, so the hotel was more than happy to provide a main course based on one of the pasta starters.
The hotel is ideally placed on the main street and is only a short walk to the ski slopes. It was certainly very pleasant relaxing in the lounge talking to other guests after a hard day’s skiing or patting the dog who is so well behaved you don’t notice he is there!
Overall. a great hotel with a friendly atmosphere, comfortable rooms and excellent evening meals. We would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely return to the Mignon for our next skiing trip to Cervinia.

Very friendly, quiet and warm hotel. Staff are perfect - especially Luca. Dinners are very good and lovingly made with care. Breakfasts could be improved upon - frankly a bit samey and dull. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Perfectly placed within Cervinia as far as ski slopes and shops are concerned. We had a very good, enjoyable and hassle free stay. Definitely recommend for family holidays etc but it's not a busy party place. Am sure we'll go back at some point.

fantastic location for absolute beginners or experienced skiiers - nursery slope/ ski school/ ski lift to challenging blue/ red run both within 100m. for anyone beyond nursery but not up to the blue/ red run, you have a 0.75km walk to the next chair lift.
fabulous staff, very friendly
fabulous food - 5 courses every night. always well cooked and good variety.
good rooms - all you need with cable/ Sky TV. first floor rooms a little noisy from lounge below and footfall from upstairs, but as everyone was in bed by 11pm, not too much of an issue!
family have used this hotel for 7 skiing holidays over 10 years - never dissapointed

My husband and i stayed at this hotel for a week in March 2010 and we fully concur with all the previuos reports about the excellent service and food. We stayed half board and if you are staying at hotel Mignon suggest you do the same as you would miss out if you didn't. We had 5 courses every night, that was when we could manage the cheese as well as everything else!
The 3 sisters running the place are a good team and make sure everything runs like clockwork. i also enjoyed the odd conversation with Romeo the cat and Chappie the dog who are resident features in and around the reception/bar.
The small lounge is very pleasant for after ski or after dinner drinks, and the ski room kept nice and warm so our boots dried out overnight.
This is a traditional wooden clad Italian hotel with a rustic stmosphere. The whole team make this a lovely place to stay , we will certainly go back there when we are next in Cervinia.
