Cervinia is one of the most expensive Italian skiresorts so we were happy to find this clean and roomy hotel so close to the main cable cars, at a reasonable price. It's a three-minute uphill walk to the lifts. Our twin room was simple but large by Italian standards, clean and in perfect condition w a large bathroom w shower. Bring own shampoo. Tiled stone floor also in the bedroom, with small rugs - not very cozy, but functional. Beds simple but OK. No elevator, but there is a lift for wheelchairs. Friendly and helpful management. No safe in room. TV. No internet available for guests. Most rooms have views over the village, not very busy local road and surrounding mountains. Rooms were warm in the night even with 15 degrees C below zero outside. Warm water in shower took 20-30 secs to arrive but then it was fine.
Locked skiroom with axcess from the outside, with hot air ski boot-warmers but no other heating - a bit cold. Manager said he some day would fix better heating in the ski room. We carried our ski boots to our room to have them warm in the morning. Manager's son has a small ski&boot rental shop just across the street, friendly service there too, a bit pricey but probably the same everywhere in Cortina...
The hotel's own restaurant seemed to be closed at the time for our visit. Five minute walk with some outdoor stairs (or sloping road) to reach the centre of town. Small center with supermarket & bank etc across the street & some staircases down.
Breakfast could have been more varied but OK, fresh bread with ham and choice of jam, yoghurt, fruit drink, self-service coffee/chocolate/cappuccino-machine.
All in all probably one of the best of the few budget choices in pricey Cervinia, well worth at least it's two official stars.
