Firstly I'd like to say that the Club Med experience itself is great if you have kids, particularly on a skiing holiday. You can ship your kids off at 9 in the morning and not see them again to 9 o'clock at night if you wish (not that we did!).
I will, however, deal with the pros and cons of this resort.
Great food, there is a massive selection (which can get a bit overwhelming at times) and it is all beautifully prepared. You can eat yourself silly at all times of day (breakfast, lunch, pastries at 5, snacks at 7, then dinner). If like me the buffet experience gets a bit too much then for at least one night take a walk down the hill to the Hermitage and their 1 star Michelin restaurant for a treat (it is only a 10 minute walk), amazing food and an incredible Italian wine list.
Spacious accomodation (but see below). If you have adjoining rooms they are very large with enough space to be on your own away from the kids
Good equipment. We hired from the resort and both the skis and the snowboards were very good, better than I have had from Skiset in Val d'isere the previous year.
The location is a bus drive into town every morning and there are only two ways up the mountain. A chairlift from the centre or the gondola from the side of the hill. The problem with the gondola is that you have to negotiate up a set of stairs and then down another with your sets of skis and boots which is a real pain.
The bathrooms. These were a real letdown and I think there must be some serious drainage problems in the Christalano suites as the first room we had positively stank of sewage. We tried everything to get rid of it but it would not go and we had to move rooms. Even in the second room one of the bathrooms smelt bad. I think the resort has some serious work to do on their drainage over the Summer.
The comments about the showers are true as well, they are tiny and have a big step down to the floor, real risk of tripping and having a nasty fall.
Overall I am impressed with the Club Med experience but I would not choose this location again.
