Courmayeur is mostly closed down in May, so we were delighted to find this place open -- and it was really good! We were greeted with an appertivi -- excellent vermouth. I ordered the artichoke appetizer -- unusual preparation and fantastic flavor. Husband had beef carpaccio, which had lots of interesting flavors. He had veal cheeks for dinner, I had salmon -- both were good, just not as innovative or delicious as the first course. For dessert we shared the three sorbets-- again, really creative and delicious. Service was excellent, wine list truly impressive. One of our best meals in Italy.

We arrived with a glass of Prosecco which was well received, but the only other good thing about it was the bread sticks! Starters ok but main course where most of us had steak with Rosti which wasn't cooked was awful. When we pointed this out the waitress, she didn't apologise, but brought one portion of properly cooked Rosti but looked daggers and no apology!!!! We paid the bill and left! I wouldn't waste my time!!

We are a family of three pescatarians and one lactose intolerant. When we opened the menu, we thought we were going to struggle to order, but then the owner sent us his English speaking waitress, who put us at our ease and helped us choose dishes both on and off the menu. We had a fine meal in this relaxing restaurant, rounded off by sorbets and a chestnut cream millefeuille to die for.

We had stayed at Hotel Maison Saint Jean and this restaurant is located in this hotel.

We had all our breakfasts here and one of our dinner was at this restaurant.

Good thing about this hotel and this place is that it is a family run place and is managed by owners only - thus they ensure that the guests are comfortable and food served is extremely tasty with customization as required by guests.

Breakfast: During breakfast - fresh juices were served along with variety of tea and coffee. Also, home made breads (variety) were available. Variety of croissants were also there and they were tasty. Omelettes were to order.

Dinner: This place comes alive during the evening.....they have a fine collection of wines and whiskey :) We had risotto and pasta here and both were extremely delicious.

This is a place where you must have a meal without fail when in Courmayeur.
