Skiing in Courmayeur is a bit different than most areas. You take a tram from the center of the city to Plan Checrouit, which is an area covered in snow and surrounded by restaurants, ski shops, rental shops, and the Ski School.
You can come up the tram carrying your boots and skis, go to one of the shops at Plan Checrouit to change your clothes, and check your boot bag and shoes. You will be walking on a groomed ski area, so you need to wear shoes that are waterproof.
After skiing for the day, you can check your skis and boots in the shops so you don't have to carry them the next days. And, you then can go to one of the many restaurants for an après ski cocktail (and you must get a "Bombardino" if you have never had one).
