We stayed at Hotel Casa del Pellegrino from 22nd to 25th March 2012 on our annual visit to Padova. Having not been able to get a room previously, we booked with luck this time at the opening of their new season in January. The lady, Monica Mazzucato was very helpful and accommodating to a couple of our requests. We chose a room facing the Cupola of the Basilica of San Antonio, and it was nice to wake up in the morning to the view of Basilica and to the chimes of the bells. For the devotees of San Antonio, this hotel is the perfect place to stay. Also the Basilica and Abbey of Santa Giustina (tombs of Santa Giustina, Apostle Matthias, Evangelist Luke, etc are housed here) is in walking distance and worth a visit. Breakfast is basic, but sufficient served in a hall close by. We had dinner most of the time in the hotel’s restaurant. Choice is limited, but good and the price is reasonable. The room was basic, but neat and tidy. All in all, if you come to visit the Basilica, this is the perfect place to stay. We certainly will return.

Room Tip: Of course, try to get a room facing the Basilica.

I stayed only one night but it was very good. The room was clean and the restaurant is very good. The staff is great. I had some food restrictions and they offered me an alternative menu.

We were three women and stayed one night at Hotel Padova Casa del Pellegrino as we wanted to be near the Basilica. It was a job getting to the hotel as there was a road race and all the streets were closed but our taxi driver was able to do a masterful job and get us quite close to the hotel. It was quite busy but were able to get our room in the dependenzia (annex) immediately. This building was at the back of the property and very modern abd quite. We had three single beds and very functional furnishings, not gorgeous but perfectly adequate, particularly for only one night. The room was immaculate, not a spot of dust anywhere. At this end of town you are quite far from the Scrovegni Chapel, the other not to miss sight in Padova, which is relatively close to the train station, but busses are possible. If I was ever to return to Padova, I would not hesitate to stay here.

Room Tip: If you want a modern quiet room ask for the dependenzia, if a view is more important try to get a room in the old building overlooking the Basilica.

Can't get any closer - literally across the street from the Basilica. Great location to see all sights, most within walking distance. Even convenient if taking day trip to Venice though you'll want to take the bus to reach train station. Very clean basic rooms. Upon request we got even a better family room in a more updated building building behind the main hotel with modern furniture and lcd TV and incredibly spacious, updated bathrooms. Free internet, parking. Fantastic staff and service -very kind and helpful. Restaurant next door (same name, but independently operated from hotel I believe) is very convenient and serves very good meals at reasonable prices. Coffee/breakfast shop also great coffee/dolci for breakfast though not included in room rate. Hotel offers good buffet breakfast add-on for reasonable price if wanted. Very good gelato ("Friso") a few doors down the street. Possible to arrange airport shuttle service to Venice airport. Highly recommend Hotel Padova Casa del Pellegrino.

The man on reception was very helpful. We payed 70 euroes for room. It was airconditioned, with simple furniture. We had one window from which we could see the bell tower from a church. We missed breakfast which was included in the price. There was a small common room with italian magazines and books in english near the reception. The room was clean but shower had a plastic curtain which did not reach the bottom and it did not take long before it was flooded. We only wished we were placed in the main building which looked nicer. In my opinion we over paid the room.

Room Tip: Stay in main building.
