“Exceptional in every way!”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

Excellent staff & excellent service (Leonardo was very helpful! He would go the extra length to help us with everything! I really appreciate everything he's done for my family during our stay. Thank you, Leonardo & Luca!).

Love the hotel's design (I like designer hotels in general), the beds, and the spa (the massage at the spa is also wonderful that we had to have more than once ^^). Breakfast is really good (although the choices aren't many, but they cook really good sausages! I love them so much :9).

I love the street where it's located -- it's on a quiet street between 2 main roads -- close to everywhere (the Basilica, the shops around Piazza Garibaldi, Caffe Pedrocchi, and within walking distance from the station), I didn't have a problem finding this hotel. This hotel was one of the few very memorable hotels I've ever had in a long while. And lastly, value for money is exceptional! I would come here again! :)

Room Tip: Bathroom is a bit too small, especially the shower area (and I'm rather petite). The standard...

Le camp spa has a very central location in Padua with a lot of restaurants and cafés nearby. However, like some reviewers have pointed out it's easy to miss the entrance as it feels like residential building. You need to take an elevator up and once you've to arrived to the lobby you notice how small the place feels, the hallways are cramped and room doors are tightly packed one after another, perhaps the dark lighting and colors doesn't help.
The staff member that we encountered was very friendly and helpful. The same guy was there the next day preparing our breakfast in a tiny space behind the lobby area. There were about 4 tables. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, the same guy was also preparing breakfast to be taken to another room, I'm guessing there were only two rooms that were occupied on the night we were there.

Anyway, the rooms are very nice and a lot of thinking has gone in to planning their construction. There is no noise intrusion what so ever.

In the shower there's a small window that enables you to peak out into the rest of the room. The design of the bathroom was very cool and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean, heating was on (it was December) so nothing to complain about.
I would stay here again if I return to Padua.

This is not what I expected of a 4* hotel. The entrance is on a pedestrianised street (which you could easily walk past - just a pair of large wooden doors and a plaque on the wall). There is no visible front desk as you enter, just a hallway in which you will find a lift around to the right. On arrival at around 1600, we headed for what we thought was reception, but all doors were controlled by room key card, which we did not have at that point, so we could only ring the bell - we tried several times but got no response. Eventually, we tried at the spa downstairs...rang the bell again several times. We were about to ask at one of the shops downstairs when someone appeared at the Spa desk and let us in!

The room, particularly the bathroom was fairly small (why do the Italians insist on installing bidets even if there is insufficient room for one!). In places it was designed more for style than practicality. However, the bed was extremely comfortable with the very considerate choice of soft/firm pillows (a la Holiday Inn). Robes and slippers were also provided, plus there was a capacious in-room safe which would comfortably accommodate a large laptop with room to spare. An LCD TV hung on the wall, although we found very few non-Italian channels (and none in English). There was a small balcony, but no view to speak of, however, for a city centre hotel, the room was refreshingly very quiet.

Breakfast was a very modest affair, although fresh strawberries were on offer over the weekend. Choice was limited but quality was generally good (no hot food).

The best feature of this hotel by far is its location though: about 15 mins walk to the station, 5 minutes to the Scrovegni Chappel, 10 minutes to the Cathedral and a further 5 or so to the Prato della Valle and surrounding points of interest. For this position alone I would suggest considering this hotel, but if you decide to book, make sure you call ahead so that there is someone around to meet you on arrival!

Room Tip: There are only half a dozen rooms or so - not sure if any one was better than any other. If you retu...

This small jewel is worth a visit. The ambience is small but intimate, ideal for a relaxing weekend in Padua. I spent a couple of days visiting the city and enjoying this charming hotel. The spa service is great to chill out after a long day walk. The staff is very helpful, location is perfect, most restautìrants are "just around the corner", can be great for couples looking for a romantic nest.
