The Belludi 37 is a welcome destination after negotiating the many one way streets in Padova. To find the hotel we eventually just followed the brown saint anthony signs as otherwise directions are a nightmare. The hotel has a few parking spots on premise, a necessity in this town. Cool water, coffee or other beverage awaits. The staff is tremendously helpful both in carrying bags, giving directions and simply being a warm smile upon arrival or departure. The rooms fit the notion of a small boutique hotel, decorated in a modern style. All beverages in mini-bar are free and a fruit plate appeared each morning. We had the suite looking onto the cathedral. I should point out the hotel is not really across the street from the church but down the street with a partial view of the church (which is still lovely). There is no restaurant at the hotel (other than breakfast), but with all the places in Padova this is inconsequential. As stated, the hotel is close to the cathedral, in addition it is a 3 minute walk to the largest plaza in Europe and almost next to the UNESCO botanical gardens. About 15 minutes away is the palazzo del refugio and Palazzo Bo. The Giotto frescoes (not to miss) are probably 25 or 30 minute walk from the hotel. After 11pm the hotel is not staffed so you must use your room key to open the door. As we were at a conference, we arrived back well passed midnight everynight, so if you need to talk to someone at the desk do it earlier in the day. My biggest negatives of the hotel were A) that since our room was up two stories, we had to walk up and down the stairs each time we left the room. When you are hot and tired after a long day (and maybe had walked a few miles in the heat) having to walk up at night was not fun. The staff carried our heavier bags up, but I had to carry my computer laden bag which wasn't light. The other issue was the toilet/bath. Our room had a very small shower with a claustrophobic entrance. If you are a big person with more "prosperous" proportions, you will not enjoy the shower. Also, the toilet seat never stayed up, which I find very annoying. Overall, this was an enjoyable stay and I would consider returning since the location is very good, the room is spacious and the staff were wonderful.

Pros: Very nice staff, parking spaces (you must reserve and there is a fee but it is worth it), good breakfast and coffee, comfortable beds, large and well appointed rooms. They upgraded our room so that we had a lovely view of St. Anthony's cathedral and museum across the street.

Cons: On the edge of the old city so it is quite a long (but pleasant) walk if you want to visit all the major landmarks and squares. A bit difficult to find because it doesn't have the typical signage of a hotel outside and the lobby is so small. Not many restaurants around (just a few run-down cafes), you need to walk deeper into the old town for better restaurants.

Room Tip: if you drive in make sure you reserve a parking spot

So much about this hotel is excellent. The staff. The size of the rooms. The in-room amenities, like bathrobes, espresso machines and complimentary refreshments. We would have rate it five stars except for the size of the breakfast room, which accommodates only a handful of people at a time. It also ran out of some things when we were there. And the bathroom shower was a challenge, with the wand repeatedly falling from the holder. We figure they replaced the wand at some point, and it does not fit the original holder. But we would stay here again and recommend it without reservation. It is a very fine place.

What a great hotel. Super charming and small but very chic design. Lovely rooms with AMAZING views! Great location right off the piazza where St. Anthony's is. No elevator - only stairs. It was really fabulous. We would definitely come back.

Be sure to let them know if you have a car. Parking is VERY limited (like 3 cars can park at a time) and they need to know in advance.

Loved it. What a find from Trip Advisor!

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights and from the very start the staff went out of their way to be, not just helpful but informative and welcoming. The room was large and well equipped and the hotel is ideally situated for St Anthony's Basilica and the Via Roma. Padua is a beautiful and very surprising city, well worth a visit and only 30 mins by train to Venice. When we return, and we certainly will, we will stay at Belludi 37!!!

Room Tip: Room 107 overlooks St Anthony's Basilica but all the rooms are spacious and light.
