“Most impressive church outside St. Peters”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Here we viewed the venerated St. Anthony, were guided behind the alter to view the most impressive Basilica that exists outside St. Peters. Extremely moving.

“stunning building in and out”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

must see cathedral dedicated to St Anthony in beautiful Padua. Close to historical centre. Impressive size and beautiful roof. The inside is magnificent with wonderful art work and it is free. Make sure you follow the dress code although some lightly dressed young ladies were kindly offered a piece of cloth to cover themselves during the visit.

“Interior is beautiful”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

The exterior of the basilica seems hulking, massive, and consequently somewhat unattractive in a way that the other grand basilicas in Italy do not. The interior, however, is beautiful. Buy a candle outside and leave it for St. Anthony--you can't light one inside yourself. Very serene inside. Still plenty of pilgrims coming to pray at the tomb of St. Anthony. Very much worth a stop in Padua.

“Holy place!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

from the moment I walked in, not knowing what I would see, this church felt Holy. Upon gazing at the relics of Saint Anthony, I knew why. I couldn't imagine in the US having relics of our fore fathers and celebrities. It is a beautiful basilica and one that should be held with highest of reverence.
