“You cannot say you´ve been to Padova without seeing it”

I am not especially keen on botany, but I was amazed of this place.
Do see the test-yourself alley for the blind - you can try to guess the plant without looking - just touching it. I recommend the garden for a rest for those tired by the rush of the city. Children liked it too here.

“An amazing space of peace, tranquility and wonder”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2013

The historic significance on its own makes this garden so special . Its difficult not to appreciate the beauty and lay out of this small encompassing garden imagining in times past how important these specimens of plants from all parts of the world were to the progress of medicine at the time. It is not big , so not a bore to visit , reading the history of the garden is what makes it unique , the other thing about it thats interesting is the importance of the garden that allowed it to survive for over 500 years.
Appreciating the garden can be helped by reading up on it first I found.
An amazing space of peace, tranquility and wonder.

“Lovely to wander around on an Autumn afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

The botanical gardens in Padua are well worth a visit and have historical UNESCO status as one of the oldest in the world. A bit faded in late Autumn, but still much to enjoy including the Goethe palm that has its own mini greenhouse. Beware of the closing bell. We got back to the gate only just after 5pm to find, along with several other visitors, that we had been locked in. Fortunately another employee working in the offices had a key and let us all out, but they don't come to check/clear the garden first!

“Historical and Charming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 October 2013

We visited the garden in July 2013, it was peaceful and full of interest we sat on a shady bench around a secluded pond perfect place to relax.
The garden is full of medicinal plants which are displayed very well, the beds are all easy to access making photography from different angles possible. A lovely place to visit.

“Worth seeing”

The garden is not that big but it has enough different and interesting plants to make it interesting. the buildings themselves are a nice touch.
