We did not discover this excellent restaurant until towards the end of our 2-week stay in Padua. We ate there on our last 2 evenings in Padua and absolutely loved both meals. It is only part of the story to describe Gourmetteria as a restaurant. It is that plus wine-bar, cafe, deli and kitchenware shop.
The food is wonderful and I'm pretty sure you could select almost anything and be delighted. The service was absolutely exemplary and every question we had was answered in almost perfect English (the menu is available in English with detailed descriptions). If you have a big appetite try the hamburgers. My wife had the Veronese and I had the Padovanese (each reflects the cuisine of the city after which it is named). The Padovanese comes with beautifully cooked beef, an egg and piles of prosciutto. Delicious. Open from 10 a.m. till midnight, so you can pop in whenever it suits.
Don't miss it. It's a great restaurant with reasonable prices.

We went on the Tuesday night and then returned on the Friday night for their new menu launch. Unfortunately the new menu still had a few problems to iron out so wasn't ready. They were still able to offer some of the new dishes though which made up for the disappointment. We were here last year so we were returning as we had a lovely meal previously. It's busier now, so they have more tables and a reservation is recommended. The setting is a deli and kitchen gadgets shop so it's unusual. The menu is different to traditional restaurants and this is part of its appeal. The new menu features a V beside the vegetarian dishes which is helpful to us. There is always someone who speaks good English so that is also helpful. Fantastic vast selection of Italian wines; they don't stock wines or liqueurs from anywhere else as they prefer to promote Italy. They also only use local ingredients in their dishes. Excellent food that never disappoints. Very good service from the staff.

I ate here with my husband and two friends for lunch. All three of them got homemade pasta dishes that they really enjoyed. I had the baccala ragu with polenta which is just about the only gluten free option on the menu. It was not to my liking and way too heavy. It would be great if they had more salad/gluten free options for those of us with tolerance issues. Prices are high for offerings, in my opinion. Would you pay the equivalent of an $18 burger?

Their wines are conveniently displayed by regions and by food pairing. Good selection too.

We came across this restaurant late on in our trip and really wish we had found it earlier so we could have gone back! Gourmetteria has a large deli selling food from all over Italy, as well as various kitchen gadgets. We arrived early and had time to browse and buy a few bits.

We were fortunate to be the first customers that evening and found the staff very friendly and attentive. The waitress was obviously passionate about the restaurant's ethos of cooking locally sourced food really well, and talked us through the menu, explaining what various dishes were and highlighting local specialties and her personal recommendations. We shared a corn bread pizza as a starter (unusual and really tasty). Our mains of gnocchi and pork were also really well cooked and full of flavour. Although we barely had room for dessert, we did manage to share one which we also really enjoyed. My husband also enjoyed the local beer from Venice and bought more to take home!

The restaurant itself was fresh and modern, and had a great atmosphere.

We would definitely recommend this place and will definitely return should we visit Padua again.

Situated in the heart of Padova, decorated with passion and great attention to every detail. Menu is not very big (you never get lost!), but excuisite and there are special daily offers. All the dishes are of Veneto region origin and "correctly" done (means not touristic) so you can enjoy real Italian cuisine. Extremely tastyyyy!!! Nice atmosphere e polite/speaking many languages/very fast staff. Great choice of wine. At the entrance there is the shop zone where you can buy many gastronomic presents (wine, jams, sweets, biscuits, etc). All is from Veneto region and 100% Italian. Life is too short to eat badly ;) Gourmetteria is strongly recommended to visit -» relax/enjoy! I'll come back for sure)))
