This very traditional cafe has stood on this same corner for a long time , I was passing and could not help noticing the beautifully prepared fresh sandwiches on plates on the bar resting under wet white cloths to keep them moist .
The bar is as it was 100 years ago with all its original fittings . Old wooden tables in the back area add to the charm. I only had a tuna and egg sandwich and a aperol spritz to drink in the midday , the sandwich tasted as good as it looked . what made it special was the husband and wife team who run the place . welcoming and friendly, very service oriented and proud to serve well . Lots of people were coming in to get the delicious looking fresh cut sandwiches to take away in paper bags . It is situated at a cross road by the river , a most picturesque part of Padova . I want to return in the evening soon and try some wine , the barman is a friendly chatty fellow so if you are on your own , you won't feel lonely to be there.
