When looking for a hotel in Padua, we needed it to be close to the train station, as we traveled a lot to other cities in Veneto region. NH Mantegna Hotel is really convenient in that sense - it is situated within easy walking distances (10-15 min) both to the station and the historic centre, especially to Scrovegni Chapel and Eremitani. However, the surroundings (business district around Padova Fiera) lack the charms typical for old Italian towns.
The hotel offers full list of services for business travellers and tourists alike. However, as in almost all Italian hotels, WiFi connection was very weak, and login and password had to be renewed every 24 hours.
Our room was very nice, though a bit small, with quality sound-proofing, modern furniture and bathroom fittings. Buffet breakfast was rich, and the restaurant on the 12th has fantastic views of the city centre.
