Nice little family run restaurant in S.Elena. Easily found by the corner of the square. Very near the water bus stop. Price is considered very decent by Venice standard and the homemade style pasta and main courses are great. Their crabmeat pasta definitely impressed me, one of the best pasta I've ever had on my 10 day trip down the various Italian cities. We had stir fried fish dish as our main, not really quite our kind of dish with the small fishes and their eyes popping out... But the calamari and prawn dishes were nicely done. Will definitely be back. It's really a rare good value restaurant in Venice where food are not that great but really expensive. (Eg: I had really good pasta in rome, Florence, sienna and other parts of Tuscany for about half less).

An Italian restaurant in an Italian setting with real Italian food - we were slightly put off by the other reviews so decided to walk to another restaraunt however after getting lost (st Elena is only round the corner!) we stumbled over this place. I can't recommend enough how much value for money you get here. The food quality is excellent and the staff are really friendly! A must!!

We ate here once as we were staying in St Elena. It has a nice feel, with lovely handmade lace curtains and is run by an old couple. We are real foodies and we love wonderful food, this food was passable homemade food, but to us lacked flavour and we preferred the chichetti bars some of which had cheaper and tastier food. We had lasagne (meat and vegetable, 9 euro each) which was a very simple plain home made lasagne on the plate reheated without garnish. the vegetable lasagne in particular was bland and required a good dose of pepper. we also ordered a side salad, but they were out of vegetables so we got a sliced winter tomato sprinkled with oregano (4 euro). We also ordered Mammas homemade cake (passable - 3 euro), half a litre of house red wine (5 euro, drinkable) and bottle of water (4 euro).

We had the best meal of our stay at the Osteria Dal Pampo. After 4 mediocre meals on the Lido where we were staying and seeing the reviews on here we decided to go by waterbus to Sant' Elena district and try the Osteria Dal Pampo. We were so glad we did, the food was good and varied

located at a nice cosy and not so busy area of venice (Saint Helena), we really enjoy the surrounding area which is less busy and not flooded with tourists.
small restaurant along the corner operated by the owner and wife, get a feel of local hospitality and great food.
highly recommended to try this place once you're done your share of tourist food at restaurants near saint mark's or near rialto bridge by the grand canal
can really enjoy the fresh seafood and cosy environment without being worried about getting ripped off by those restaurants near the main tourists area
