In all honesty, this could be a terrific place!! The views are terrific —windows could be washed to be able to see the view however—and the public space is fine. There are two couches and a table and chairs—altho there are some furniture which need to be removed and/or reupholstered. There are lots of old books which need to be removed. There are two bathrooms which need some finish work around the doors—hot water is great though. One shower needs a curtain and a plastic divider wall to keep water off floor. There are two big bedrooms which need lamps and tables by the bedsides. The kitchen has a stove and fridge and microwave—but needs to get rid of lots of extraneous items—too many pots and pans and dishes and old appliances that do not work. If renovation continues on this place, it will be super one day. ( I would recommend this vacation rental to a friend which the above information stated).
This apartment was not as advertised. The pictures, with exception of the views, are not even of this apartment, I'm not sure where they came from. The only truth to the apartment's description is "beautiful views." We arrived a bit early and we were allowed to leave our bags in a closet downstairs until 3pm check in time. We walked around the city and grabbed a bite to eat but it was actually 5pm before the person met us at the apartment to give us the key. Upon entering it was obvious that the apartment was under renovation which would have been nice to know ahead of time. There were ladders and doors etc propped up along the walls. The apartment was dusty where the workers had been working and the property manager explained that the maid had broken a window and left in a panic when that occurred so the apt was still not clean. We asked for the Wi-Fi password and were told there was no Wi-Fi (This was advertised). The property manager actually gave us her hot spot to use while we were there since the owners had advertised Wi-Fi. We then asked where the washer and dryer were and were told they were broken. (This was advertised as well). We were out of luck and had to wash our clothes in the sink. Advertised air conditioning. One bedroom had and it worked, the other had it but there was no plug for it and it wasn't vented. I had emailed the owner ahead of time to inquire if there was a hair dryer in the apartment and was told yes. No hairdryer was there and when I asked the property manager about that, she said she would bring the next morning. Three day stay and we never saw her again or a hair dryer. If this place was advertised as under renovation but great view, people may still rent it but to misrepresent the property completely is not the way to do business. Other than the views, this place needs a lot of work and you would be better off to rent from an honest person.
Paola was a lovely host, maintainig great communication in the run up to our arrival and during our stay. She went out of her way to be helpful, even accommodating a change in our guest numbers at the (relatively) last minute. The apartment boasts incredible views over the canal and some amazing period features. The location is fantastic: central but quiet and only 50 yards away from Salute.
Lovely apartment with great views and lots of space. Pietro was wonderfully helpful and would love to stay again.
