When we arrived we were booked into a classic room - this was on the ground floor next to the reception and wasn't really what we were expecting. We upgraded (at a charge) to a junior suite, which was much more like it. Four poster bed, tall ceilings, intricate artwork and great views out onto Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

The location is very convenient, with just a 5 minute walk to either Rialto or San Marco. It was very easy to get to, and I'd almost advise getting off at Ft. Nove if you're catching the Alilaguna line from the airport, as the waterbus is quite slow and it takes 10 minutes to walk from there at most (minding out if you have lots of luggage however), rather than the 20 or so minutes it will take to get around to San Marco.

The staff were very friendly, both front of house and in the bar / breakfast. Breakfast was good, the pastries were cooked fresh I believe and were delicious.

All in all, a very good stay. My biggest advice would be to stay in one of the suites as that's when this hotel really does come into its own.

The Ruzzini Palace is absolutely superb. It has such a wonderful feel to it – oldie worldie embracing modern comforts.
The staff – all of them – were very professional, friendly and helpful; they really enhanced our stay - Venice is such a confusing place you need a helping hand and recommendations every so often.
We had one of the classic rooms on the 6th floor – or maybe it could be described as a budget room with views over roof tops – that’s when you stand on a chair to see out of the window! But the room was totally fine, a simple double bed, nice bathroom – clean and not too bad a size. For the money we paid – have a look at Travel Republic for a fabulous deal – we couldn’t have asked for more. A four star hotel of this standard for under £80 a night – hello?
Other good points are the bar – the drinks are ultra reasonable, £3 for a big glass of wine, good quality too.
With trepidation we took up the hotel’s offer of a free water taxi to visit one of Murano’s glass factory. We had a fear we’d be shackled in the factory for six hours and wouldn’t be allowed to leave till we had bought at least twenty chandeliers. But not at all, the glass blowing demonstration was fascinating, we nodded enthusiastically as we wandered the showroom and then said we wanted to leave. We were thanked for coming and shown out! No hard selling, just a casual wave goodbye.
So if you want somewhere with total class, in a great location, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. It surely must be one of the best out there.

This is a lovely hotel.

Centrally located it’s easy to find, once you know how to find it! The first time it’s trial and error down the alleyways from the Rialto Bridge. But that’s half the fun.

Once there a warm, welcome awaits from the front desk staff who all speak English. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed huge. Everything worked and the safe in the room was very useful.

The breakfast buffet was good quality with all the usual continental suspects, plus the addition of a fresh bottle of Prosecco for those who like to start the day with a bucks fizz!

In the evening the boys on the bar are welcoming and smiley. The Merlot is fabulous.

I booked this hotel on the strength of Trip advisor reviews and having been would recommend it without reservation to others.

The Ruzzini Palace will blow you away as you walk through the square up to the hotel. Once we arrived we were greeted by Francesco at the front desk who was very welcoming and such a nice person. Francesco surprisingly upgraded us to a suite which overlooked the entire square. I am not a frequent traveler but will take at least one trip a year, and this room that we stayed in has got to be by far the most elegant I have ever experienced. If you have ever seen the movie the "Tourist" with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp the room was similar to the room in the movie. No lie the room must have been 2,000 sq/ft +. It had a beautiful bathroom as well as the main bedroom area. There was also a door that led into a large loft to casually watch TV or entertain guest. The painting on the walls were a bit creepy to me but that may have been the wine getting to me. All in all I was very impressed with the service and the room as well as the rates. However the rates may vary because we visited in February which is low season. If you are interested in this hotel I would recommend booking way in advance especially during high season because there are only 11 rooms in the entire place. If this is your first time in Venice be sure to call ahead and get detailed instructions on how to arrive to the hotel b/c it can be somewhat confusing. Make sure to get off at the Saint Marks Plaza and not Zaccaria. Lastly, the breakfast in the morning was very good especially the sugar coated pastries with some sort of jelly in the middle. I would recommend this hotel and I hope your stay will be as enjoyable as mine.

We stayed at the Ruzzini Palace during the Venice International Film Festival (where our son had a short film accepted for screening). Our room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful in recommending restaurants, things to do, and how to get to places. Breakfasts were excellent. The location was great (very quiet and close enough to all the sights). We hope to return some day -- it was a wonderful five days.

Venice, in general, is expensive and a big tourist trap. We got charged EURO100 for a fresh sea bass one night at a restaurant in Venice. It is also the only city in Italy we visited to charge a heavy service charge (13-20%) to the bill when dinning in restaurants. The water taxi wanted EURO60 from the Venice train station to the Ruzzini Palace Hotel!

The Hotel itself is nice and has everything you need. The room was romantic and has a lot of characteristics. The bed was soft and the bathroom was big. It is near the Realtor square. But if you arrive in Venice for the first time and have lots of luggage, then I won't recommend this hotel. It is a good 10minutes walk from the Realtor water bus station and cross several bridges. So with a heavy luggage, it wasn't easy to get there. There are so many hotels in Venice, I'd recommend people to stay at hotels near the water bus station.
