I spent 3 nights at Ruzzini in the end of April with my spouse. it was our first (but not the last time) at Venice. The hotel was in a great location, few hundred meters from hustle. The room was lovely and so was the breakfast. Staff were friendly and very polite. We felt ourselves like royals.:)

The minute we arrived to the Hotel by water taxi we got surprised with the amability of the reception personnel. They were/are extremelly kind! We got early to the Hotel (10am), and our room was not ready, so they invited us for a coffee in the breakfast room, with no charge! We went for a walk in Venince, and when we got to the Hotel after lunch, to put our bags in our room, we were surprised by the fact that they were already in the room, and that they had made us a free upgrade to a Royal Suite!!! Fantastic Suite! A very big living room, with sofas, LCD, DVD, champagne, a very nice room (also with LCD) and a very very good bathroom, all with a really interesting furniture combining old and new styles. The suite has a balcony in the living room, with a very nice view over a small canal where you can see the gondolas passing by!
The breakfast is in a very well design area, and it is excellent, with great juices, even champagne, fresh french croissants, etc... and a great great service by a very nice Portuguese waiter.
We were told that the Hotel is not a 5 star due to the fact that does not have a restaurant, and we believe it. Every service, every space in the Hotel is excellente! And why do we need a restaurant? Venice is fantastic to walk by, and we just asked the reception personnel where to eat, and the restaurant recommendations were fantastic!
The Hotel is near to the main attractions in Venice, 5min walk to St Marks Square and to Rialto Bridge. Very very good location. Although it is near this places the Campo St Maria Formosa is a very quiet square, with not so many people like in the small streets around St Marks or Rialto.
In conclusion, the best City Hotel that we've stayed in. Totally recomend it!

We arrived at the hotel around 9am and were surprised and pleased to be told our room was ready. Our room was canal side , spacious ,tasteful and generally exceeded our expectations .

The dining room was a light ,airy and relaxing area . Breakfast was very well done with a range of good quality items to select from including the option of chilled presseco , which although we didnt try any we thought was a nice touch.

As other reviewers have stated the location was ideal , close enough to the key areas of interest but just enough away in a pretty square to be quiet.

On preparing for our departure we asked reception to organise a water taxi to take us to the airport and were pleased when they arranged for us to hook up with other guests leaving at the same time saving us 50 euros. Again we thought this considerate on the part of the hotel staff.

In all , we liked this hotel very much and would highly recommend it to fellow travellers.

The location is fantastic. The staff has been great. Our luggage did not arrive and they took care of everything and kept us informed of what was going on. Took a lot of the stress out! Also it was our wedding anniversary and they kindly brought us a bottle of prossecco on the second day. Made the stay very pleasant. Room nice (deluxe) but a bit on the dark side.

This is an old palazzo that has been restored with lots of care and taste.
The rooms are beautiful and have been furnished with top quality furniture.
We got a free upgrade to the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in.
I loved how the interior was a perfect balance between modern and old.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in arranging restaurant reservations and giving advice and tips for touring the city. Breakfast is very good with a nice selection.
The location is perfect, there is a small square in front with nice cafes and a canal right in back so you can get a private water taxi right in front of the hotel. All the sights a just under a 5 min. walk.
Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!!

The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are well-appointed and a lot larger than expected. (They gave us a free upgrade). Everything is located within a short walking distance.
