Stayed in Ruzzini Palace in February, 2010 with my daughter who is an experienced European traveler. Having never been to Venice, I wasn't sure what to expect but the Ruzzini Palace answered those questions. The location was perfect for a short stroll to the Rialto Bridge and there are plenty of restaurants a stones throw from the hotel's front door to spur your interest.
We are in a suite which is beyond all expectations, large, airy and reminiscent of the period. The staff is over the top in helping us, the breakfast is adequate, beds are plenty comfortable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

My husband and I stayed at Ruzzini Palace with our two daughters (aged 5 & 7). We can not say enough good things about this hotel and the staff. I booked this hotel after reading several hotel reviews on tripadvisor. All of the great reviews were 100% accurate. The Chef Concierge, Michele Vianello, was wonderful. As were the other concierges we spoke with. Unfortunately, we forgot to get the other names. The lady that served us breakfast in the morning was so friendly and helpful. She anticipated us coming and had the coffee we liked ready. The breakfast was great and the coffee was awesome. The rooms were very spacious (we were all four in one room). The staff was very accommodating and added two extra beds to our room for the kids. We still had plenty of room. The view from our balcony of the square was beautiful. We left our car at San Marco parking garage and took a private water taxi (70 Euros) to the hotel lobby. I highly suggest doing this! It is well worth the 70euros! It is 70eruos total for everyone in your group, you can always split the cost if you have other adults along. Michele helped us in the morning planning our day. The hotel gave all of us a free trip to Murano and a private tour of the glass factory there. I asked Michele before we took the trip if there would be pressure to buy anything. We were not going to buy a big glass piece, maybe something small for the kids. He told me that was no problem. The glass factory gives the free tour so you can see the difference between their good glass and the glass from China sold all over the Island. The free tour was wonderful. They picked us up in a private water taxi, took us on a our tour the Grand Canal, and then to Murano. The glass tour was so fun. They gave both of my girls a free glass horse they had made for demonstration. We never felt any pressure to buy anything. They were very, very nice. Definitely do the tour!!!! The beds were nice, the tv was a big flat screen, honestly, everything was perfect!!! The price for this hotel was really good. We compared several hotels. This hotel was way nicer than some of the more expensive hotels. We are living in Switzerland and hope to come back every year for the next few years. There is always something new to see and discover in Venice. We will always stay at our favorite Venetian hotel. It's beautiful!

We stayed at the end of the Carnivale and unlike other hotels the room rate did not change for stays during and after the festival - we got a great rate through travel republic and could not have been happier with our choice.
The size of the room was excellent compared to other hotels we have stayed in on the island and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The hotels website provided directions which made arrival painless and the buffet breakfast a great way to start the day.
The location is only a few minutes walk from all major attractions but in a less touristy area with lots of great places to eat and drink at reasonable prices close by.
We will definitely use the hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

SIMPLY AMAZING!! My husband and I could not have asked for a better hotel in Venice for part of our Honeymoon! Service and quality was OUTSTANDING!!! We had a Junior Suite and felt like royalty! Old romantic Venice meets modern Italy. 100% satisfied! :0)

This hotel is in a great location, set in a peaceful square just 300 metres from St Marks Square and Rialto bridge, if you don't get lost findng them.
The easiet way to the hotel is by water taxi but this is very expensive. we arrived via the orange line Alilaguna and got off at Rialto bridge. The hotel web site has directions from here which were very clear and took us straight there within 10 minutes.
Initially we were given a room on the top floor . The room was very nice , clean and large enough but as it was in he roof it had no view at all. you had to climb on a chir to see out .
we spent one night in this room and discovered that despite it being february and 0 degrees outside, our room was an oven. the air con/ heating was turned off at our request but despite keeping the windows open it was still over 25 degrees c at night.needless to say this was not comfortable. we discussed the problem with the front desk and they tried to rectify it with the central control system but when this did not change the temperature they could not have been more helpful and offered us another standard room. this was on a lower floor and was definatley cooler. when we actually came to move rooms we were shown to a diferent room which turned out to be a junior suite, did we want to move to this one? of course we did, it was devine. The staff could not have been more helpful throughout our stay both rooms were spotless and the porter very knowledgeable as well as all on the front desk.

A day after our heat issues we overheard another couple complianing to the front desk about the heat and they too had loft rooms so if you do stay here and are offered a loft room be warned that for some reason they are very hot.

Breakfast was a little limited in range if you want something even just a little healthy, very indulgent on pastry and croissants but all fresh and tasty.

there is no reasturant here for eveing meals but there are many eateries around to suit varied budgets.

There is internet access in the lobby but not free. €3 for 20 mins or €6 for 3 hours. you can check in online and print boarding cards through this service.

They provid daily american german and french newspapers but no british papers and ther english speaking tv channels are BBC world news , which is awful, and CNBC. Eurosprot is in German you don't come to Venice to watch english TV

Overall a lovely hotel in a fabulous location but if you are offered a loft room be prepared to like it hot.

Stayed (28th-31st jan 2010) in the Ruzzini palace hotel. It is definitely a 4star hotel.
All the staff are very friendly with good English and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice(fruit, yogurts, breads, rolls, pastries, scrambled egg, bacon, hams, chesses, juices, tea, coffee, jams, nutella, Philadelphia and even presscco to start of the day!
It is in a lovely location nice and quite and short distance to walk to rialto and st mark square. most importantly our room was lovely, nice size, lovely bathroom, hall way off room where we could hang our clothes and keep our bags and also where the safe was. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. i spent weeks researching hotels before finally choosing the Ruzzini and i was not disappointed.

Really nice location (water taxi brings you right to the canal entrance at the back of the hotel. Beautiful square greets you as you walk out.

Nice and central - 10 minutes walk to St Marks Square - 10 minutes walk to the public transport boats.

Inside the hotel is just beautiful. Classic and ambient with a lovely modern twist. Bathrooms are gorgeous, Concierge incredibly helpful in pointing you in the right direction.

If you're looking for romance then this is the perfect hotel !!
