“pizza and more”
Reviewed 2 February 2014

This restaurant is well-regarded by locals, primarily for pizza - thin crust with a choice of 200 toppings (!!). We ordered pizza and were not disappointed, but non-pizza dishes - especially the steaks - served to other guests looked very good, indeed. The menu offers a wide choice of seafood, meats and pasta, in addition to pizza. Prices are moderate. This is an ideal family restaurant - there will be something on the large menu of interest to a child of any age.

The restaurant is difficult to find, so here are some simple directions. Go down the narrow street between the Antiche Figure and Carlton hotels (across from the railway station) until you reach a bridge. Do not cross it! Turn left and you will see the restaurant is on the left-hand side of the street, about 50 metres away.

“Wonderful food, reliable service ”
Reviewed 23 January 2014 via mobile

We have eaten here many of times. It is one of our favorites I'm Venice. Great food hood service and contact with locals.
From take out pizza for a quite evening in our room, to daily specials , pastas and seafood entrées. Beef steak or steak tartare they have it all. Amazing homemade food. This has turned out to be our neighborhood hang out place! Try it you will love it.

“Nice locals venue”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

New Year's Eve 2013 and we were looking for a resto that was serving a la carte instead of a fixed menu (or where we could get in the door at all!). The very knowledgable desk clerk at our hotel (Antiche Figure) steered us towards this place. It was jammed with locals but they found a table for us right away. The food is excellent, the standouts for the evening being thin slices of duck breast interleaved with slices of green apple, lasagna di pesce, and (one of my all time favorite Venetian standards) stuffed squid in ink sauce. Nice list of local wines. Efficient service. Would love to return.

“As good as it was in 2010”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

After 3 days in Venice, this was our last dinner before flying home early tomorrow. Decided to return to Osteria Al Vecio Pozzo. We had eaten here in 2010 and really enjoyed it. And it was a short walk from our hotel, making it convenient on this last night in town. We ordered 1/2 L House Red, 2 orders of the pasta I ate last time - Tagliatelle Vecio Puzzo, then dessert (Tiramisu), 2 coffee, and after-dinner drinks (Amaretto & Grand Marnier). We enjoyed it all very much, and it only cost €50 - reasonable for Venice.

“Good food off the beaten track”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Based on previous reviews and the proximity to our hotel we decided to give this eatery a go. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following night. The first night was a Saturday and we were lucky to get in as the place was full of locals. We were surprised to see a fairly large dog staring at us from under an adjoining table. Apparently an acceptable local practice. Nevertheless the food was very good, the wine even better and the service unobtrusive. Very enjoyable.
