“Great location, very clean”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2013

It's a small b&b but very well located just a few blocks from San Marcos and La Fenice, if you want a clean room in this area, this is an excellent choice. Just be sure to take line 1 of the water bus, line 2 drops you off too far if you need to carry your luggage.

Room Tip: if you have a chance stay at the main hotel which is Dell'Opera and where you make the check in.

This is actually a part of hotel Dell Opera which is one of the boutique ones in Venice. This is actually a serviced apartment and is located in the main action zone and you can be at any part of Venice within minutes. Now coming to the accommodation. It is being operated under the umbrella of Dell Opera Hotel and you need to check in this hotel before moving to your chosen serviced apartment. Pleased take guidance before reaching Venice since the lanes can really be confusing and the local people not very helpful. After asking to a lot many we got the direction from a few. Moreover the hotel will also not provide you any assistance in terms of sending any member with you in order to show you the process. Very cold in response and was not very cooperative. The room is basic and you don't need anything more if you choose to spend most of your time outside. The room does not even have a coffee or tea maker. Check out is better since they allow to keep your luggage in Dell Opera through out the day. The location is excellent near the San Marco's square and very near to the water taxi service. From the railway station or the airport water taxi takes you to the San Marco square quite frequently. So if you want basic room and nothing more with a great location, this is the place to choose.

We wanted a good accommodation with a great location and hence chose this place. I must say that the location is just awesome. We stayed here for a week, and the weather was not always kind, so we did spend some time in the room. But having said that it was warm and cozy and very very clean. There isn't a view, but really, you're two minutes from Piazza St Marco!! And if you're worried about walking up some stairs, then I wouldn't come to Venice at all, because that's pretty much all you do all day. We had a lovely clean bathroom with a hairdryer and a fantastic shower. In the room we had a television and a fridge and very comfortable beds. What more do you need? It was also very quiet for such a central area in a big city. We didn't have much trouble at all finding Hotel De L'Opera to check in and they gave us a very simple map to find the room. Again, it's all part of the fun getting lost in Venice. If you have trouble, look for La Fenice - it's very close. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend to our friends.

This hotel was the cheapest in the area and very clean. We went at Carnival and as others have said, loved the location. When you are planning itinerary, just be sure that you map Hotel de Opera in order to determine where check in needs to occur- I didn't see this information on Residenza Favaro's website, but that would have been very helpful.
Our room was extremely quite. No complaints!

The location of the hotel is great, only a short walk from San Marcos square, unfortunately we ran into some complications. We stayed at the hotel for a few nights late June and early July. Upon check-out, we were overcharged 100euro. We received an e-mail from the hotel recognizing their mistake which was great, they offered to refund the 100euro overcharge and requested my credit card information to help with the credit request. However, it is now August 27th and I have yet to receive a credit of the 100euro overcharge to my credit card. I have been in e-mail correspondance with the hotel manager regarding this manner, however he has stated that this problem is now beyond his control and now is in the control of the credit card company. In short, he as shifted the blame to the credit card company and can do nothing to help "speed" the process. Beyond getting overcharged, we did not have any complaints with the hotel. However, with all of the available hotels, would you want to risk being overcharged for your stay and have to deal with this matter while residing in a different country?

First of all, you do not check in at this location. The check in is at another hotel around the corner. The directions they have posted on the door at this hotel are not good. Here's how you get to it; start walking out of the alley that this hotel is located. Turn right at the end of the alley (where the shops are) and take your first left. Keep walking until you go over the little bridge. On the corner is a little restaurant or shop with the words VINO in it. Turn left there. (Basically turn left after the last step on the little bridge) The other hotel is 1/2 way down that tiny dead end road.

Now that you know how to check in....this hotel is in a prime location, near San Marco Square and is decently priced for its location. There is no elevator to get you to your room. The rooms are a good size. The bathroom is a great size and very clean. You get free internet which is nice because most of the other hotels say you get it, but really don't. You won't get a pretty view but that's ok with me.

The staff is so nice! We had to use their internet to print off our plane tickets, and the man at the reception let us use his computer. He was so friendly and joked around with us a lot.

I would absolutely stay here again. I was with my friend (2 women in out late 20's) and felt very safe here.
