“Superb Hotel in an excellent location..”
Reviewed 12 July 2011

Stayed in this charming hotel for 3 nights.
Excellent location (take a bus from the airport to Plaza Roma - 5 mins walk from there.)
The rooms are quiet spacious for Venice (for any European city !) - there was a double and a sofa bed in our room with loads of space.
Right outside the main hotel entrance are some gondola "taxis".
Lovely outside garden for breakfast in the morning - really enjoyed our stay, will definitely return.

We booked this hotel for a three night stay on our honeymoon. We initially selected it for its closeness to the station (we were arriving on the Orient Express), location outside of the tourist hotspots and the fact it had both canal frontage and a garden/courtyard.
The instructions provided by the hotel for finding it were not too accurate but it is a relatively short walk from both the train and bus station without many bridges. The hotel has a good location on a small canal with several small bars, cafes and restaurants close by. Reception was efficient and manned 24 hours. Initial impressions were very good with the place being exactly what we expected for a traditional Venice hotel. Our room at the front of the hotel, overlooking the bridge, was spacious and comfortable, sparsely furnished and decorated maybe but this was not a negative. A good sized bathroom with shower, bath and bidet was particularly welcomed. The room had a safe, minibar and reasonable hanging space (although not many coat hangers). One thing to take note of with our room was that although on the first floor, people crossing the small bridge we overlooked were roughly at our window height and had an unrestricted view in (unless the shutters and net curtains were in use).
We enjoyed breakfast in the courtyard under the vines. We accept some previous reviewer's comments that the breakfast has a restricted choice but as we were staying only three days it was not a problem for us.
Next to the hotel is a very small bar where we enjoyed late evening drinks watching the world go by.
In all, a very enjoyable stay and we would not hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Venice but not stay in the very crowded, touristy areas elsewhere.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front will hear noise from the canal - gondoliers, passers by and waste collection boat...

This Hotel is in a great locaton, away from the crowds, but still on a main thorough fair. It is close to the bus station and people mover and only about a 15 minute walk from the railway station. Rooms are good and clean, especially the Garden Rooms (very good value). Staff were helpful and they offer a free trip to Murano (but it comes wth a visit to a glass blowing factory which is quite expensive but worth a visit). There are plenty of restaurants within close proximity, but there are more another 20 minutes walk away. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time. This area is best value for money and you can walk everywhere from the hotel in a short space of time. The hotel was beautiful and breakfast in the garden welcoming. Staff at times could have been a bit more helpful but otherwise great.

Had a four night stay early June and was not dissapointed for our second stay.
If arriving into Plz Roma this hotel is ideal, only five mins walk with only three bridges to negotiate. The hotel staff are very polite, friendly and helpful.
The hotel has a nice bar and great outdoor garden where breakfast can be taken, breakfast is plentlyful and fresh.
We had a large room at the back of the hotel on the 1st floor that was very peaceful.
Will be back again sometime in the future, we highly recommend this hotel.

Not far from Bus and train terminal. But you will need to prepare yourself with a map. The hotel is very old but clean. We had a room quite ok, but the bathroom was very small. The staff helped with the direction to help us go to St. Mark's Square. The breakfast was very standard. But overall its a nice hotel because of its location.
