Picked up a pamphlet from the place at out hotel. Gave it a chance since I am a jazz buff. The place had everything you expect of a jazz club. We were there on a weekday, so i´m guessing the act was the house band. Brilliant band, and great atmosphere! Had a spritz and a beer. Magical vibe followed...

We decided to go after reading about this place online and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. The staff was friendly, the Aperol Spritzes were perfect, and most importantly he jazz trio was phenomenal. The focus of the evening was Latin jazz and thy really kept the tempo up. I only wish the set could have gone on longer.

This is an eclectic little jazz club with, I think, a core of musicians and some guests depending on the night.
The night we went, they were playing a Miles Davis tribute selection.
If you like Jazz, you have to like that.
And they were good.
Good selection. Good musicians.
It appeared the piano player was also the owner and that the young lady in the bar needed as much help as the band needed him so the night was a little disjointed.
But good jazz played by passionate musicians is good jazz.
Worth going to.

We visited on a Wednesday, when the band plays classic and modern jazz standards. It was the final night of our Italian vacation and was just the right speed; a relaxing, entertaining evening of really well-played music. We booked via email earlier in the day and received a speedy response. The cover charge of 20 euro per adult (reduced charge for our 11-year-old saxophone-learning jazz fan) was quite reasonable as it included the first drink and nibbles for the table. The band played for two hours without a break and the musicians were quite accomplished. Watching the vibraphone player was mesmerizing. I never understand how they hit all the right notes with two mallets in each hand and a swinging tempo. Amazing. The band played some familiar and some not-so-familiar songs, and we enjoyed being introduced to things we hadn't heard before. The club is a particularly intimate setting; it was a bit like having a jazz band in your living room. The MC engaged the audience in English, the bar staff couldn't have been friendlier, and all the musicians came over to speak to us when they finished playing. An amazing, entertaining night.

The fella who seemed to be running the place emailed me four times to check our reservation even though I assured him we were coming. They had reserved a few tables in the front row (there were two rows - very tiny place) for those who did reserve, which was nice. They admitted they didn't cook the dinners they served and they were terrible for the steep prices they charged. The room itself was pretty dreary with a mish mash of art leftover from an exhibit. But all that could have been forgiven had the quartet been good. They played some very strange stuff, none of which we recognized and we are long-time jazz fans (who else would seek out such a place?) Perhaps if they gave more information on their brochures and website what patrons could expect from each performance, they would have more success. It was a Saturday night and there were nine in the audience. Then seven...we left at intermission.
