Description: Ristorante Ai Mercanti in the heart of Venice between the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco is an upmarket, romantic restaurant in very cool style that enjoys a high-flying gastronomic reputation. The vaulted dining room is decorated in sophisticated terracotta and black with impressive shining globe lighting. The bar is wittily decorated with dressmakers’ forms and sexy corsets – great conversation starters. The menu is classically-inspired Venetian of a high order, focusing on things from the sea and changing every two months to take advantage of the and array of the freshest ingredients in true Italian style and pastas and desserts are all made in-house. In warm weather the dining room sprawls out onto the adjoining campiello for the loveliest al fresco dining anywhere – the Venetians who crowd Ai Mercanti certainly think so.

This maybe hard to find but it is worth the effort. It is very unassuming but wait for the food and the service. My husband wasn't to impressed when we arrived. I am glad to say he left a very happy man after 3 courses!!
I had two of the specials. Zucchini flowers filled with minted goats cheese and they were to die for!! Then to follow the Sea Bass with zucchini, saffron and fresh basil leaves. And I don't even like zucchini that much. Don't miss it.

We loved our meal here. Enjoyed some prosecco with our meal and it was refreshing. Went heavy seafood and thought it was all tasty. Service was outstanding. Staff was extremely friendly. Had creme brûlée and according to my daughter it was yummy.

This is a stylish and modern restaurant with service an international fusion type of food - very good. It's in the Michelin Guide - no stars. Reasonable priced for this type of restaurant.

A great find in Venice. A modern contemporary take on Italian food using fresh ingredients, carefully prepared and beautifully presented. A real ! restaurant amid the usual mix of tourist places. Super friendly knowledgeable staff, overall a brilliant meal and good value for money.

This place was hard to find, and we got kicked out mid-meal due to flooding, but it was the best dinner I had in Venice (which isn't saying much, but it was certainly a nice reprieve from the other more obvious places). It wasn't so much one of the best meals of my life as a relief - a truly decent meal from start to finish.
