“Great location, good prosecco!”
Reviewed 24 August 2012

stayed for 3 nights in very hot August. great location between Rialto and San Marco - 5 mins from Sant Angelo vaparetto stop. Rooms and bathrooms good for this price in Venice and the roof top terrace with complementary prosecco was great! Near to good restaurants and bars and v close to the Grand Canal. Reception desk and team are a good source of advice on restaurants, pizzeria, bars, concerts etc.

Room Tip: Go for a room on the upper floors near the roof terrace.

We arrived by train and took a private motorboat taxi to L`accademia Station and from there, only walked one block to this gem in the heart of Venice. It´s located by a Piazza called Campo Santo Stefano, minutes away from Piazza San Marco.

I am really not into Venecian decoration because it tends to be loaded with details (barroque), but being in this unique city, the atmosphere of this Boutique B&B made great sense because of the owner´s delicate taste.

There is a difference in price between Superior and Standard. If you can afford the Superior go for it, it´s bigger and brighter, but still I loved my Standard charmy room.

When we arrived we where received with a bottle of Proseco, at the top of the building that has a really nice terrace overlooking Campo Santo Stefano. What a treat. Each floor has a breakfast area, and we always felt we where the only ones there because each couple had their own schedulles.

Taking a bath was another great experience if you need to relax after all the walking, the bathrooms are modern and comfortable.

Would recommend it again and again.

What a find! A fabulous boutique B&B just off the beautiful Campo Sant Stefano (directly across from Sant Stefano church) without the crowds of Piazza San Marco but with all of the charm. This is a short walk from either Academia or Sant Angelo (also Alilaguna stop which connects to the airport) vaporetto stops and from here one can explore San Marco and Dorsodoro with ease.

Attention to detail is seen in every aspect of the B&B's décor; from custom built-in closets to stunning tiles in the bathrooms. A short walk up two flights of stairs (no lift/elevator) and one arrives to an exposed brick salon where breakfast is served every morning. The fresh croissants, coffee, meats, cheeses, pâtés, jams, fruit, yogurt, granola... are all delicious. The rooms are comfortable, immaculate and not cramped. Amenities include a flat screen TV, mini bar, free wi-fi, hairdryer, rain shower, towel warmer and safe. In fact, the rooms are exactly as portrayed on the website which many travellers know is usually not the norm. Refreshingly, there is a top floor salon and terrace where one can relax and enjoy complimentary prosecco. (a nice touch on top of so many nice touches).

If there is no availability here, check B&B Bloom and Locanda Fiorita which are all managed by the same friendly people. In fact, B&B Bloom is just one floor up.

Will we be back? Most definitely. And soon I hope.

P.S. We arrived on Christmas Day and once we rang the bell, the young lady from the inn met us within minutes to help us get situated. Mind you, I was worried that we may have to wait or worse, be forgotten on this holiday. Not at all. She even recommended a couple restaurants which were open on the 25th. (hint: make reservations in advance for Christmas Day and Sant Stefano (26th) as many are closed for the Christmas holidays)

Room Tip: We had the white room on the second floor. This had a day bed so it could have easily accommodated t...

I booked a one night stay. We were staying in Rome for the holidays and wanted a quick Venetian getaway. Settimo Cielo definitely gave us that. It's location is perfect. Just a short walk from San Marco Piazza and Rialto Bridge and a skip away from the quieter southern part of the island. I was turned off by all the OTHER hotels in Venice. Over-priced, covered in tacky gold gilding and bright red colors. I came across Settimo's "White Room" and had to have it. It's on the top floor, sleeps 3 and is absolutely darling. Although it was only my boyfriend and me, we booked a 3 person room for a little breathing room and the price was unbeatable. (120 euros/night - other hotels had nothing under 210 euros and the rooms looked of lesser quality.) The gorgeous bathroom had a large shower with great water pressure and a rain shower head. The towel warmer was a surprisingly pleasant amenity.

We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco (Champagne) which we shared on the stunning rooftop terrace overlooking a quite piazza. It was a delightful ease into calm Venetian life. We checked in at our leisure at the sister hotel across the courtyard (Locando). I was confused about this when reading reviews so I'll elaborate. Bloom, Settimo and Locando are all owned by the same people. Bloom and Settimo are located in the same building. Bloom is on the first couple floors and Settimo is above that. Locando is their home base and right across the way.

The complimentary breakfast was great with fresh meats, croissants and buns. I was iffy about wasting a meal on a hotel breakfast, but this was as good as you're going to get if you went out. If you do book this hotel, stop by the cafe next door (Turn right out of the front entrance and it's on the corner). It was the best espresso I've had in Italy and it will give you that boost to go exploring in Venice's enchanting alleyways.

I hope you have an unforgettable trip like we did!

Room Tip: Book a triple for the much needed extra space.

This was our third time in Venice and we will definitely stay at Settimo Cielo B&B again. We were on the 4th floor (top floor), no elevator, but well worth the climb. The room was fantastic, well decorated, comfortable, modern bathroom. The breakfast room is on the third floor in a lovely room with very comfortable chairs. The buffet is plentiful. A few more tables would be nice since one morning we had to wait to get a table. The rooftop balcony area is spectacular. There is complementary champagne, but no one ever told us. The front desk staff was nice but not very informative - we seem to have to ask for information instead of having it given to us. Even with these small concerns we would definitely stay here again.

Where to begin.... absolutely LOVED this B&B for so many different reasons.
I spent A LOT of time researching accommodation in Venice and got the general impression that most places were over-priced and badly decorated! Having read a few comments in Trip Advisor about this place being "very small" - and having arrived after 4 nights in Paris in a room the size of a shoe box, I was more than pleasantly surprised to be shown into a large, bright and airy room (we stayed in the White Room).
On arrival, we had troubles finding the place (seems par for the course in Venice...) and had to call the hotel to get directions but from there it was plain sailing. One of the staff came down and met us as the church opposite and we were able to get into our room hours before the check in time - always a great start!
From that moment we fell in love... beyond the ancient facade lies open, airy spaces where fragrant smells waft up the stairwell (yes, there is no lift) and fabulous chilled grooves accompany you throughout the corridors and (breathtakingly good) rooftop terrace. To top it off is the beautiful library and the complimentary Prosecco: life doesn't get much better.
I could rant on for ages about why I loved this place so much but in short, the location is excellent, all staff very friendly (more on this later), decor is just gorgeous, breakfast is good and the rooms have everything you need.
Special mention has to go to Antony at Locanda Fiorita. His customer service and advice was absolutely wonderful and really made our trip. He gave us some great restaurant recommendations and assisted us in getting our (massive) luggage back to the airport with minimum fuss. [ Major tip: there is a ferry that goes from Sant Angelo (only a few minutes walk from the hotel) to the airport). We were so grateful for his help and were extremely impressed with his professionalism and kindness in all of our interactions with him.
When researching my trip, it was hard to find info about Settimo Cielo and I kind of hope it stays that way as it's truly a hidden gem.

Room Tip: White room was opposite Sant Stefano Church. Bright and airy - but no bath

A great boutique B&B in the centre of Venice. The Settimo Vielo is in the same converted Venetian House as the Bloom B&B and they share a beautiful terrace overlooking Venice with complimentary prosecco! Location is great - 10 mins walk to San Marco square, 3 or 4 mins to two of the waterbus stops (San Samuel and Giglio). The rooms are small and prices are quite steep but you expect that in Venice and it's very much worth staying somewhere like this over the "chain" hotels.

Decor was gorgeous - opulent wallpapers, modern and contempory glass partitions and all the creature comforts.

Don't be put off when you arrive and have to collect the key from the hotel round the corner - once you are inside the converted house overlooking the piazza the higher up the stairs you go the better it gets!
