Ok, Venice Resorts is my funniest hotel experience... FOR 30 YEARS. Don't worry. Room is clean; Roof is stylish. And, it's only 10min walk from Piazza Roma or bus terminal. But, you got to verify every detail of check-in procedure before you go. (if you book online, don't email. make the call).

Venice Resorts is under a small coop of 3 hotels. You check in at Hotel Ai Tolentini (go www.albergoaitolentini.it to confirm it's exact location). Or, make sure you stick to the main canal after you cross the bridge beside Hotel Santa Chiara. Cross the second bridge to Hotel Canal. Turn right immediately to follow the small river 'Rio de la Corce. Reaching the small open ground beside Ca dei Polo, turn left and walk into Calle Amai S. Corce. You'll see Ai Tolentini on your left.

Tell your family to stay on the street. Go up stair and check in by yourself. Else, your family would waste a lot of energy.

Living in Venice Resorts makes you feel you're a local. You open the strong metal door on ground floor yourself. You walk the narrow stair yourself. You wave to locals who live across the street yourself. Some room can have very small shower rooms. If water turns cold when you shampoo your head, switch it off and sing a song. Hot water comes again.

Don't back off. price is attractive if it's one of your concern. I may choose VR again if I visit Venice in light gears.

Venice Resorts is a dangerous fire trap. Basic fire protection systems are missing – and staff demonstrated no understanding of the need for such.

We could not find any smoke/-fire detectors, no fire alarms, no alternative escape routes, no way of getting out of the fourth floor room (no rope, no escape ladder etc) other than one narrow stair we came up, no emergency lightening, no emergency signs – and the staff could not advise on emergency plans.

I consider such features as basic when living in a wooden structure hotel with a restaurant at ground level. More sophisticated elements were also missing; no sprinkler system nor steel fire doors (as far as I could see).

We were advised a room in fourth floor with one window to climb out in case of fire. But it was some 15-16-17 meter down to a back yard without any escape devises. Escape that way was not possible.

An AC-system that was not functioning properly in a hot july night, a restaurant at ground level (guess they used gas when cooking) making nasty smell of food during night time, and a extremely slow WIFI, made our experience not pleasant at all.

My conclution: Stay away from Venice Resorts.

Room Tip: Stay away from this hotel

Dear Customer,
Your feedback seems to be almost questionable.
Before considering your review, we would like to remember that you, after using the requested services, you asked for a refund otherwise ……. you would have posted negative feedback about our property…..
In addition, at the time of your booking some months ago, before your arrival in our property you also raised some issues, and for this reason did not pay for some services you benefited.
These services have been reimbursed to our company by your booking agency.
Concerning your review, we remind you that you stayed in an apartment on the first floor of a building of the 14th century, situated in the centre of the historical city of Venice, unique in the world, where no building has fire escape outside stairs because they are not even authorized by the competent authorities as they would ruin the special characteristic look of our wonderful city of art.
As you certainly have noticed, the building has been recently renovated and meets all the requirements of the fire laws.
On the stairs right outside the door of your apartment, there was a fire extinguisher complying with the requirements imposed by law considering the size of our facility. Moreover, from your door to the main entry door, there are about 10 steps and, on the stears, there is absolutely nothing obstructing the exit way.
Please note that also the restaurant on the ground floor is in compliance with fire regulations.
For this reason we can not speak about danger…..
Even the authorities who inspected the whole building found nothing to object.
As for the air conditioning matter, we inform you that the conditioning system you referred to has been replaced exactly 2 weeks ago and it is working perfectly. In addition, in the bedroom there was an additional air conditioning system. We saw you didn’t use it and our staff was absolutely not informed about this request from your side.
For your next visit to Venice we recommend you not to stay in the historical center but to reserve a recently built 5 star hotel in the area of Mestre, where you will find wide stairs and fire escapes stairs outside the building.
Regards

We stayed at Venice Resorts for one night after arriving on a cruise ship. We wanted something close to the cruise terminal that we could walk to with luggage but still be in a nice area of Venice. Venice Resorts met these requirements perfectly. It's not fancy, nor are the rooms very big, but it's clean and a good value based on other hotel prices in Venice. The stairs can be a challenge with big luggage, but I'm not sure that you could expect better with the age and charm of an old building. I would recommend Venice Resorts to anyone looking for a good clean location that is easily walkable from Piazzale Roma.

It’s very close from the Train / bus /vaporeto station and you could go to main sights by walk. Rooms are big and very comfortable and the apartment is in a quiet place. One bedroom is for 3 persons with a single bed and a king-size bed. The other bedroom contains a queen-size bed. The kitchen has the basics just to cook simple meals. The wifi is very good. The hotel staff is friendly, polite and helpful, but the check in is at a hotel which is in a different location (5 minute walk) .
The room is on 3rd floor and there isn’t elevator, so do not carry heavy luggage, also because from the train station / bus station, you have to cross 3 bridges. The bathroom is ok, but the water flow in shower is extremely low and the water is cold and the shampoos and soap are horrible, like the tv channels available.
