“Lovely restaurant and food”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

In a city where people and the food can be indifferent, this restaurant stands out. We had a lovely meal in the pleasant garden at the rear. Service was attentive and excellent. The price was reasonable for 3 courses, wine and coffee. Off the beaten track but well worth it.

“Super restaraunt non-touristy”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Had the cod mouse and sardines starter with Polenta twice, really lovely.
Had fillet of beef in Valpolicella source which at 15 euro was a bargain, my wife had Hake that night which was absolutely perfect. Loved it so much we went back for second night which was handy as we stayed next door.

Compare the prices with the tourist rubbish further into town and you will be amazed, it is excellent value.

Service was excellent and best of all you are not in a typical pasta and pizza dreadful tourist restaurant. Do not be surprised if you look in the window and it seems empty, most diners go into the garden which then gives the impression that it's empty, it won't be.

Also they have live music, which can be a bit cheesy but hey it gives a bit of an atmosphere and I liked that.

In summary I doubt that you wil find anything nearly as good as this in Venice for the cost.

“Excellent choice and beautiful garden setting”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

We chose this restaurant because of the reviews and the fact that it was close to our hotel (it is within a few blocks of the train station near the Papadopoli Park). We called and asked for an outside table and they said "everyone is outside!

The restaurant is a small family run place, and the garden is full of beautiful flowers and candle light - very romantic. The menu was basic and Venetian, a few very fresh fish dishes, a plate of the day with several courses for €25, or ala carte choices of meats or other fish and pasta. We chose a Venetian fish appetizer to split, and were not disappointed. Then we had the fresh seared tuna - cooked perfectly and with the little taste of very old balsamic it was heavenly - and the spaghetti vongole (clams) - very good but not quite exceptional. Prices for all of the food selections were excellent!

As for wine, this was an excellent wine list if you are looking for high quality local wines at an amazingly good pricepoint. Price ranges were €15 to €44, with the Amarones being the high point of course. We splurged, especially since we are living in Milan and its hard to find an Amarone for €44 there! We were so happy and surprised at the high quality, and ended the meal thinking that this was a really excellent find.

Service was excellent

“Best restaurant in Venice! ”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

We walked into this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. And thank God we did so! The food and wine was beyond delicious and the staff is friendly, funny, but VERY professional.
So the next day we went back...
If we would have found this place on the first night, we would have eaten here every day. Fresh and tasty food for a decent price.
