“Grand Venetian Style”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Having carried out a lot of research on Venice hotels we eventually chose the Palazzo Paruta and were definitely not disappointed, it lived up to its tripadvisor ratings and the advice from previous regarding room was spot on. We chose a deluxe room (number 161) which was superb, very spacious with doors opening out onto a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The bathroom is also very spacious and luxurious. The breakfast is excellent with everything from cereals, to crepes, meats, cheeses, bacon and pastries available. The afternoon tea is a nice touch but I would not dash back to the hotel simply to take it. The hotel is not cheap but must be amongst the best value for money in the area. Would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Our deluxe room was superb.

This hotel is located only 400 meters from the San Angelo stop on the Alilaguna orange line. And not far from the more touristy areas near Piazza San Marco or the Rialto bridge.

Staff was nice and welcoming. We stayed in a deluxe room on the first floor, but the
balcony was of the smaller kind so we never felt like using it. Could not fit a chair out there so paying extra for this seemed unnecessary.
Bed felt nice and the marble bathroom was splendid.

Decent breakfast with lots of different stuff. Indoor garden looked nice. Would probably stay again if I return.

I do not stay often at luxury hotels, and I have visited Venice maybe 6 times in my life always sleeping in mediocre hotels, but this time my husband and I decided to splurge. Oh my, we did not regret our "sacrifice": the Paruta filled all our expectations and beyond. We had a splendid room - I think they upgraded us without telling us- the green bedroom with the view/balcony on the inner garden and the high Venitian-style windows, and we felt positively regal. The breakfast was a delight (the staff was warm and friendly and put up with my awful Italian with remarkable courtesy/) The nights or mornings were totally peaceful. An oasis of peace in an otherwise swarming touristic mecca. If I see Venice again, I want to stay at Palazzo Paruta again. Oh yes I do.

I chose this hotel primarily for it's stunning interiors and central location. I was not disappointed with either. Although our room was very small, it was very immaculate and the shower space large for the size of the bathroom. Breakfast was included which had a really good selection of usual European foods. The dining area was quite small, in a good way - intimate with not too many people (just as I like it). The location was perfect - about a 10 minute walk from San Marco Square in one direction and around a 10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge in the other direction. The hotel was a little difficult to find, late at night in pitch blackness, so I would thoroughly recommend studying / printing out a map and understanding the route from the vaparetto stop (which incidentally is only a few minutes walk to the hotel). The highlight of the stay was the offer of a trip to Murano via the hotel's private boat, we felt as though we were in a Bond movie, so special. Would absolutely recommend this small hotel again.

Room Tip: Would try to splash out on a larger room if possible. But if on a budget, the small rooms are fine a...

The hotel is in a very nice part of Venice (imho) as it is very close to San Marco (5-6 minutes walk) but in the same time is in a very quite area. The hotel has its own style and the rooms were very cozy. Staff was friendly almost all the time. The only "problem" we had was that we had to wait 2-3 hours to get in the rooms as they weren't clean, but the receptionist was nice enough to let us check out 2-3 hours late as a compensation. Definitely recommend it !!

Very friendly service. Clean nice room and a good value considering it's Venice. The included breakfast was good and the gentleman waiter was awesome! A little hard to find with all the winding walkways and bridges, but then again, that's the charm of Venice. Location was central to everywhere. I would stay here again!

Room Tip: Look at their website pictures.

This is quite a nice hotel. The positives were a decent breakfast (included), a very quiet room, and excellent water pressure in a nice bathroom. The negatives (slight) were that the room was fairly small, with a somewhat low ceiling, the hotel has a "no outside food/drink" policy (not sure how strictly enforced), and internet access was achieved with a user name (number, actually) of several digits and password also of several digits, and it had to be re-entered upon each new time signing on. Not a huge deal, but not exactly the height of user-friendliness either. Overall I would recommend the hotel. It's in a good location, near to tourist attractions without having a premium room rate.

Room Tip: If quiet is desired, there seems to be one vertical section of the hotel that has only one room per...
