“Ridotto - only the space is limited, nothing else is "reduced"”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

TIP: do not panic when reserving on-line, reply is not fast. A bit of follow up is required, but well worth it among all the traps of Venice.
We only had time for a quick lunch, and this we very much regret. Sunday for lunch, opens at 12, but in charming Italian is not ...really ready yet. However with a glass of prosecco outside, the waiting time of 20 minutes passed painlessly. The lunch menu is a bargain, 28 EUROs for three so-called tapas, very tasty seafood mini-starters served together. The main course, crispy, cooked exactly right, seabass - highly recommended. Desserts are extra, and very good. Wine list carries all you need, and from many smaller producers, and you will have no trouble finding a good bottle below 40 EUR.

Unobtrusive service with attention to detail. Well prepared interesting dishes. Creative alternatives for food allergies. Using Murano water glasses is a nice touch. Totally delightful experience!

“Fantastic in every way”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

I went here with three friends and had an absolute blast at Il Ridotto. First, the food was fantastic - we went for the sea and land tasting menu. Additionally, the wine list was very, very good and EXTREMELY reasonable. We ordered a number of wines including Franciacorta Spumante, Sauvignon from Trentino-Alto Adige, Etna Rosso and Aglianico del Vulture. Not one of them was over €35 and I would have been happy to pay €70-€100 for any of them. The value was just fantastic. In addition, they provided different glasses for each wine - not just fresh glasses, but glasses of different shapes to accommodate each wine. At just €70 pp for the tasting menu, this is some of the best value I've ever had anywhere. Don't be fooled by the value though, this isn't a place that's good "for the price." It's straight-up fantastic. Highly recommended.

“Good, but not a michelin 1 star experience.”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

I was excited to eat here after reading the reviews, but we were really disappointed. It is a small restaurant with casual yet refined feel, which we liked, but the food was only good, not great, and the service could have been more attentive (there were more than a few moments when our glasses were empty).
