1 night stay here in a Jr. suite/ 1 1/2 baths! Hubby and I and adult son spent 1 night here before heading to Rome. We chose this property based on reviews and close walking to Train Station. Very nice staff with great English skills. Comfortable lounge, very good breakfast and comfortable beds. In the morning we took a complimentary water Taxi to the Murano glass factory. So much fun on our own boat. We loved our short stay here!

I booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews. If anything, it was even better than it's excellent reviews. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We don't speak Italian, and their English was excellent. I especially appreciated their restaurant recommendations - small local places with excellent fresh food. It was our first trip to Italy, and they cheerfully gave us great advice on finding our way around, shopping, and public restrooms (buy a latte, and use the coffee shop's!). The location on the Grande Canal was perfect. Our water taxi pulled right up to the front door, and we enjoyed sipping a glass of wine on the canal-side balcony as the sun went down. Breakfast offerings were delicious and generous. We did not order the optional items, but eggs and omlets are available. The hotel was full, and we lucked into a free room upgrade: two floor suite with parquet and marble floors, sumptious curtains, and our own private balcony. I cannot think of a single thing to improve, and I will certainly book this hotel again any time we are in Venice. We only stayed 2.5 days, but were made to truly feel at home.

This is a brilliant hotel. The people that are employed here are friendly, welcoming, speak impeccable English and are attentive without being fussy. The room was perfectly clean, in traditional Venetian style and it was really well furnished, it had air conditioning which is really a requirement for a hotel of this type. The room was also large, with good amenities in the bathroom. The breakfast was mainly continental, which was fine, and there was the option to have breakfast on their canal front terrace, which was a really lovely and special thing to do. I would wholly recommend this hotel!

I booked this as a surprise for my Wifes birthday.I based my choice of hotel on Tripadvisor reviews and I can only say that we were not at all disappointed.
The location is excellent and the staff are so very friendly and accommodating.
When they found out it was my Wifes birthday they went out of their way to help me spring a surprise for her. They even produced a lovely birthday cake and sang happy birthday.
Our room was in the annexe to the side of the Hotel and was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The facilities were excellent and could not be faulted.
We had breakfast on the small landing jetty overlooking the Grand Canal and would advise anyone staying here to do likewise as the constant canal traffic is fascinating.
We will definitely stay here again. This is a top hotel and the staff are the jewel in the crown

Room Tip: We stayed in the annexe. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated in the Venetian styl...

I and my wife stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Canal Grande in Venice in May 2014. This was our first trip to Venice and we read many online comments on how the choice of the right hotel in Venice needs extra care, especially when you are dragging heavy luggage. Choosing a quiet, comfortable and relaxing place overlooking the Grand Canal and preferably close to the main attractions were important, but equally so was a location close to our arrival and departure points - the Santa Lucia railway station and the Piazzele Roma bus terminal. This small gem of a hotel met all our needs and more.
We stayed in a prestige double room on the 1st floor overlooking the canal. The room was excellent - of decent size (for hotel rooms in Europe), elegantly decorated and immaculately clean. While the decor is very tastefully conceived and takes you back to 18th century Venice, the room has all the modern amenities of a contemporary four star hotel (with good Wi-Fi connectivity). The wonderful canal views let you experience the magic of Venice from the comfort of your room (although it can become slightly noisy in the day with the windows open). An excellent continental breakfast is served on the ground floor dining area and a small much sought after balcony right on the canal. The entrance to the hotel is through a charming small square (a refreshing space among the typical narrow alleys of Venice) and the hotel is very conveniently located close to a vaporetto stop. There are some excellent restaurants nearby which are open till late in the night.
Last, but not least, the real charm of this hotel (and this is not an exaggeration) is in its excellent and friendly staff. Our special thanks to Giovanna - the ever helpful, ever smiling lady at the front desk - for making us feel at home and our stay special.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the canal - tts definitely worth it with the magic of Venice right outside...

We tried to book this hotel two months before our trip but couldn't get a room but checked one more time while we were in Pisa and found a room available so we booked it.
It was just a short walk from the train station and we were in the lobby. From the moment we got there the staff treated is like royalty. They even had a chilies bottle of presseco waiting for us when we came bake from dinner. They opened it for us, served it on the patio on the grand canal then offered to bring the chilled bottle up to our room when we were ready to head upstairs.
Can't wait to stay here again.

We first stayed at the Canal Grande in April 2008, and were charmed by the location, friendly staff, and opulence of the rooms. Way back when, the hotel only had rooms in the main building, and have taken over vacancies in the area to expand. We were promised upon arrival that the new rooms were just as nice, and actually better because they had a coffee maker. Had we not known the awesomeness of the other rooms, we would have been pleased with these newer accommodations. I must say though, these new rooms are not as nice. They are much smaller, both the room itself and the bathroom.

We were traveling as an adult group of five. My brother-in-law and in-laws can be obnoxious Americans, which makes me cringe and "get lost" from the group a lot. But it shouldn't really make the concierge cringe. By the end of our trip she was super annoyed with my mom-in-law, and while I can totally understand, she should be able to uphold her professionalism for a couple of days.

Overall, it's still a beautiful place, the room was still nice (although very pricey for the size), they have a very nice continental breakfast, and a lovely wait staff (as long as you don't ask them for too much).

Room Tip: Request a room in the main building
