We arrived at Venezia, and find numerous tourists really distress us. Hotel is therefore so important to give us some sanity and peace. So spending more money on a good hotel is worth it. Hotel Canal Grande is great. We originally booked to the sister hotel : Hotel Antiche Figure. We have been upgrade to this one, which is really great. Internet is free which is good for me. Breakfast is nice. Room is very quiet. One additional good feature : very close to train and bus station. So you don't need to drag you luggage along the narrow streets of Venice. Room is a bit small, but this is Europe afterall.

There isn't anything to fault about the Hotel Canal Grande. From the moment we arrived till the day we checked out, the stay were always friendly, helpful and very attentive. They offered suggestions with places to go, eat, how to travel around, and even assisted us with making reservations for dinner. The rooms were absolutely stunning and immaculately cleaned. Very hard to find a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. We spent the first 2 nights in a small room on the top floor. The room was very nice but we wanted to splurge a little and asked if we could upgrade on our last 2 nights. The receptionist was very helpful and gave us a good rate for the upgrade. When we moved to our new room, we just had to pack our stuff and all the luggage was moved for us while we were out. The upgraded room was extremely lavish and we definitely felt spoilt. After leaving this hotel, nothing else quite compares to the level of service and quality offered here. Definitely would book here if we come back.

Outstanding, friendly service! Before I even arrived at the hotel, someone who worked with the hotel company helped escort me to my hotel. The entire staff was wonderful! I was upgraded to a suite when I checked in. The room was BEAUTIFUL and truly amazing! It was clean, beautifully decorated, and spacious.
The location was very convenient. It was close to the train station, so I didn't have to lug my luggage too far over the countless bridges. I have stayed in some very high end hotels, and this was the NICEST hotel I have stayed in! I wish I could give it higher rankings. I want to go back to Venice, just so I can stay there again.
The breakfast was delicious, including the blood-orange-juice. I wish I was there now!

From the first minute we arived, the staff was attentive and very friendly. We were immediately shown to our room and our bags brought up.

Our Room was very beautifully decorated and extremely well kept. The Bathroom was fully furnished with extra towels and had not only a shower, but a tub as well which was a very nice touch.

Our room did not have the view of the Grand Canal, but the windows did open and you could listen to the water at night if you chose to.

The hotel is within walking distance to the train and bus stations which saves a lot of money not having to take the water taxi.

This hotel is by far the most romantic hotel I have ever stayed in while visiting Europe.

The hotel is relatively brand new and in excellent condition. What really makes a difference is the staff which is always friendly and helpful. The location is quite good in that it is an easy walk (with rolling luggage) from river taxis, buses, and trains. The walk to the Rialto, San Marco and Accadamea (sp?) locations is a nice 10-15 minutes. In those 15 minutes you pass through REAL venetian neighbohoods. One evening we got to sit in a piazza (with prosecco) and watch the families celebrate a boy's birthday. For us, visiting other people is more than the museums. Ciao!

Hotel Canal Grande is:
1. The kindest, warmest, most caring service, from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Thank you Gianni, the “breakfast girls”, and all the staff. Any possibility that you could do some consulting for some hotels I know in France?
2. A quiet location, away from the tourist hustle. Don’t be afraid to be so far on the map from San Marco, it takes around 30’ either by Vaporetto or by foot to go there.
3. A (very) small but nicely decorated and spotless room. Very comfortable bed, hot shower both in American and European style. We had as well a small terrace (I think that there is only one room like that), which unfortunately we could not fully appreciate due to the rainy weather, however, it must be wonderful to seat and look at the boat traffic on Canal Grande during summer time. Note the TV hidden in a Venetian mirror, a smart decoration trick.
4. Santa Croce is a nice vicinity, with a couple of restaurants in the nearby which are way less of a rip off than what you would find, say, around the Rialto or San Marco.
5. THE PLACE TO GO.

This hotel is lovely, the location is perfect, the staff friendly, the rooms luxurious and well appointed. We enjoyed it so much we didn't want to leave, I would certainly stay there again.

I could post photos, but as it is exactly as it appears in the hotel's photos it seems pointless.

The only thing missing to make it absolutely perfect is restaurant so there would be no need to leave the hotel at all!
